Travel blogger Alyssa Ramos wants your New York City recommendations

When it comes to travel bloggers, they’re usually the ones giving the travel tips. But starting this Saturday, Alyssa Ramos—the forever traveler behind—is flipping the script and asking you to virtually chaperone her trip to New York City.

A few months ago, Alyssa took over our Instagram account and brought us along on her travels to Iceland, where she showed us how Skype keeps her connected to home from wherever she is in the world. Now, she’s calling on locals and New York lovers to join her in a Skype group chat from September 9–12, to give her all the best tips on what to do around the Big Apple.

From the must-dos, like Central Park, the Empire State Building, and the Statue of Liberty, to little-known gems and inside tips (like how the top of the Rockefeller Center gives you a view of the whole city—including the Empire State Building), she’ll be taking your advice on where to go, what to eat, what to do, and what to see. Each day, from September 912 at 11 a.m. EDT, Alyssa will report back to the group chat with exclusive updates and pictures from her travels, and ask for your recommendations.

So how do you join the chat? It’s easy! Just follow these steps:

  1. Sign in to Skype. Don’t have Skype? Visit and download it today.
  2. Search for AlyssaOnSkype and add her to your Skype contact list.
  3. Send an instant message and you’ll be added to the group chat!

You can see even more of her journey when she takes over the Skype Instagram account on September 9 for the day. Also, look out for a special Instagram Live from Alyssa’s Instagram. Catch up on all the places she’s been on her Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook pages.
