For the past few weeks, we’ve been helping vlogger Claire Marshall meet her health and fitness goals with the help of our experts (and it’s not too late for you to join in). With a focus on exercise in our first few weeks, we want to make sure your nutrition is getting just as much attention.
Today we’re pleased to welcome food blogger Russ Crandall to the #SkypeFit family. Russ is the founder of the gluten-free and paleo-friendly food blog The Domestic Man and the author of The New York Times bestseller Paleo Takeout: Restaurant Favorites without the Junk. Now he’s using Skype to help Claire and anyone looking to live a healthier lifestyle with some simple and delicious cooking tips.
Russ first got into healthy eating while battling health issues. When he changed his diet toward natural foods and the paleo lifestyle, his health significantly improved and he began to feel better than he ever expected to feel again. Aside from no longer feeling sick, Russ also found that he had more energy.
“Living a healthier lifestyle is important to me because I feel like I’m getting more out of life this way. Every moment feels a bit more productive and I’m able to accomplish more because I’m not being dragged down by sick days or a lack of energy. As the father of two boys, I want to live as long as possible to see what cool stuff they come up with,” said Russ.
Armed with his award winning book filled with deliciously nutritious recipes and a passion for healthy living, Russ is setting out to help others eat and live better with the help of Skype. Not only will he be using Skype to show Claire how to cook healthier meals, he’ll be letting you in on tasty ways to eat better too.
This weekend Russ will be taking over our Instagram and sharing some of his favorite paleo recipes, cooking tips and more. To top off the takeover, join Russ on Skype where he’ll provide exclusive cooking and nutrition tips to help your fitness goals. To get the answers to your healthy eating questions, add GetSkypeFit to your Skype contacts to chat with Russ.
While healthy eating and the paleo lifestyle may seem restrictive and bland to some, Russ describes it as eating tasty foods that are actually good for you. He also encourages people looking to make positive changes to take it one step at a time.
“Sometimes it’s easier to make gradual adjustments to your diet and lifestyle, because they’ll probably last longer,” said Russ.
