Last year we made it possible for Skype and Lync customers around the world to connect with each other from across these platforms using instant messaging and audio calling. Today marks the next stage in this journey: we’re excited to announce that Skype users can now video call their Skype contacts on Lync, and vice versa! This means Skype and Lync customers can reach even more colleagues, partners and customers, streamlining communications across both work and life.
We also have great news for our Skype for Windows users: today, we’re introducing even more ways to make your experience easier with a Skype 7.0 update.
- Users can now scroll, call, and browse using touch! Whether flipping through your chat history or tapping to start a call, it’s easier than ever to use Skype with a touch PC.
- We’ve listened to your feedback on the redesign we unveiled in October, and as a result, we’re now enabling a compact view for those wanting to pack in more contacts and chats on a screen (You can find this update under both “View” as well as Tools>Options>IM Settings). On top of that, we’ve added a toggle to show unread messages and a more balanced color scheme.
We are working hard on addressing more of your feedback as well as introducing new features to make your Skype experience even better. To share your feedback or to get the latest news and tips, please follow us on Twitter and Facebook, and join us on the Skype Community.
