Skype gets fans closer to the artists: a look back at Sasquatch! 2014

After three days of nonstop music, singing, and dancing, our time at Sasquatch! Music Festival has come to an end. While we give our vocal cords a rest, have a look at what we’ve been up to.

The Skype Music Room was a giant success, thanks to all the Sasquatch fans and the artists who stopped by to hang out with us. The festival attendees lit up the stage with their own Skype video message remixes–and some of the best up-and-coming acts in the country came by to do the same. The Skype Music Room welcomed performances by up-and-coming artists Cloud Control, Foy Vance and The Lonely Forest.

Before Cloud Control played in the Skype Music Room, they took some time to answer questions fans sent over Skype instant messaging. Watch this teaser clip below for a quick look at Cloud Control’s Skype Music Room experience. Look out for the full video coming soon.

And let’s not forget the fans! They came out in full force to find out what the Skype Music Room was all about, filling the Skype dome. They recorded video messages to perform on stage, snapped photos in front of our Skype photo wall, and danced the day and night away.

Our Moment Makers, Kelly and Lindsey, got the full Sasquatch! experience, hopping from performance to performance and checking out the wide variety of music and artists in the Sasquatch! lineup. They took amazing photos and gave a stellar performance of their own in the Music Room.

“I’m a live music addict, so Sasquatch! Music Festival has become a staple in my life. But never have I ever come close to the experience I had this year. Thanks to Skype, I was given the opportunity to watch from backstage as two of my favorite bands, The National and Haim, played my favorite venue. There were so many incredible moments from over the weekend that wouldn’t have been possible without Skype, and for that, I’m forever grateful!” – Moment Maker, Lindsey Bluher

“Sasquatch 2014 was such an incredible experience! Skype really made us feel like VIPs, and we had the opportunity to get almost uncomfortably close to some of the biggest names in music. I absolutely loved being able to witness Seattle’s talented visual artists at work–especially after seeing their art all over the city for so many years. All in all, it was an amazing weekend on the most beautiful backdrop in the country. Thank you times a million to Skype for making it all possible!” – Moment Maker Kelly Mason
