With Skype for Android, you can share your moments by sending photo and videos for free, along with our other great features. Below, we’ll walk you through our step-by-step tips on how to update Skype for your Android smartphone:
Go to Google Play. If there’s a new version of Skype available, tap the “Update” button.
You’ll see a screen pop up asking to “Accept & download.” Click on this button to start the update.
Skype for Android will start updating.
The status bar will mark your progress. This only takes a few minutes.
Once Skype for Android has completed updating, you’re ready to use your new and improved Skype!
With Android’s new automatic update feature, you’ll be informed that a new update version is available the next time you log in. Select yes, and the app will be updated. It’s as simple as that!
If you’re an iPhone, iPod touch or iPad user, and you haven’t updated your Skype app, don’t worry. We’re here to walk you through the steps.
To see if you need the newest version of Skype, go to your device home screen. Select the “App Store” app. Click the “Update” icon in the lower right hand corner, and see if there’s a new version of Skype available. If there is, tap the Skype “S” icon, and select “Update.” Add your iTunes password when requested, and your app will start updating. In just a few minutes, the update should be complete, and you’ll be all set to enjoy the latest version of Skype.
