Students are making a difference to all of us; they’re improving our lives with the use of innovative technology. Jessica Watson, Young Australian of the Year and the youngest person to sail around the world solo, points out students have the opportunity to change the world; all you need is a dream and a fantastic idea.
The Microsoft Imagine Cup is the premier student technology competition, where the best and most inventive student teams from around the world compete to provide solutions to problems that impact thousands of people.
The Imagine Cup People’s Choice Award, sponsored by Bing, provides you the opportunity to vote for your favorite Imagine Cup Worldwide Finalist team. Teams were given the opportunity to submit a short video to show you their project. Your votes will determine which teams takes home the $10,000 USD prize. Over 60 teams submitted videos and they are packed with innovative ideas like creating mobile phone app for early detection of throat disease, or using Skype as part of a “smart house” to connect older people to their families, or using a Kinect sensor to engage autistic children into educational and social experiences.
Check out the entries and vote now for your favorite team! The winning team will be announced on-stage at the Worldwide Finals on 10 July.
