The word is out. Everyone from the BBC to the New York Times is saying that we have some “400 job openings.”
Not only are these rumors true, but we need to add all of those jobs by the end of the summer.
It’s a very exciting time here at Skype. We now have nearly 250 million connected users per month. Over the last three months they logged a staggering 100 billion minutes of calls on Skype – a 40% increase over the same period last year. We are realizing our dream of enabling the world’s conversations as more and more individuals and businesses rely on Skype every day.
To keep pace with this growth, we need to increase the size of our team around the world. But we are not just expanding to keep up with current demand. As always, we have an eye on the future and need to bring in top talent so that we can achieve our longer-term goals of making Skype the way that billions of people share their experiences every single day.
Dan Hynes, Skype’s Head of Staffing, says, “Between now and the end of the summer, we’re looking for software engineers and developers who eat, sleep and drink great technology.” We want those people with a unique combination of talent and passion to work on exciting projects at our global headquarters in Luxembourg and our other bleeding-edge global offices in London, Stockholm, Tallinn, Prague and Moscow.
