Bands Wanted: Skype & Celebrity Judges Search for the Best Band to Join the Say it with Skype App

For all you rockers and music lovers out there, this one is for you. Skype is excited to announce the next phase of our “Join Say it with Skype” campaign, which will give up-and-coming bands a chance to become part of the Say it with Skype app as the new house band.

In a hunt for today’s ‘next big band,’ celebrity and leading music influencers Pete Wentz of Black Cards, Ryan Tedder of OneRepublic, and MTV music personality and host of “120 Minutes” and, Matt Pinfield will judge submissions and award the best one.

The fun doesn’t stop there. As an added bonus to joining the app, the winning band will receive one-on-one mentoring time with the celebrity judges and paid studio time to record not only the song for the app, but also a song of their choice to help them breakthrough.

Here’s how bands can enter:

  • Log into Facebook
  • Go to the Say it with Skype Facebook page and click on the “Join Say it with Skype” button. This will re-direct you to the entry page
  • There, you’ll be able to “Submit a URL of your band” performing a song, or “Record a live performance*” on the spot (*must have a webcam and microphone to record a live performance)
  • Once that’s complete, you must enter the band’s name, email address, location, and agree to the Terms & Conditions
  • Finally, hit “Send” to submit your entry

Bands can submit their entries on the Skype Facebook page until Thursday, June 14 at 11:59 P.M. EST. Winners will be selected and notified on Tuesday, June 19 via email and will be announced publicly on Monday, July 9 at 9:00 A.M. EST.
