Connecting with Mom this Mother's Day

This Sunday, May 13th is Mother’s Day in the United States: a day to honor our moms, aunts, grandmas, and other women in our life. While seeing mom in person is ideal for Mother’s Day, many people won’t be able to make the trip back home. In fact, a survey released just last week revealed that more than half of moms surveyed throughout the nation won’t be spending time with loved ones this Mother’s Day.

Even if you can’t be with mom this Sunday, there are several ways Skype can make it a memorable day, no matter where you are.

  • Video chat with mom from your living room couchSkype-enabled HDTVs and Skype-enabled Blu-ray players now make it easier than ever to gather your family around the couch and video call mom to catch up on the big screen!
  • Send mom a customized video card – Just launched last week, Say it with Skype’s “Mom you rock” video cards on Facebook are the perfect way to show mom you’re thinking of her, even when you can’t connect in real-time. Even more, for every video card that is sent, Skype will donate one dollar to Save the Children on behalf of its Mom’s the Word campaign.*
  • Call mom’s landline or mobile phone – With Skype unlimited subscriptions or Skype Credit, you can call mom and chat as long as you’d like, without breaking the bank. Even more, Skype is offering 15% off 12-month unlimited subscriptions so you can call mom on her landline in up to 43 countries!
  • See her face-to-face wherever you are - Video or voice call mom over 3G or WiFi on Skype for Windows Phone, so you can send her your love while on-the-go!

Will you be away from your mom this Mother’s Day? Share with us how you plan to celebrate with her from afar.
