Skype … by royal approval?
Using Skype? Then you’re in good company. Regal company, in fact, as Prince Charles used Skype to call online just the other week.
That’s right. Prince Charles – future King of England – used Skype in full view of the world’s media, giving video calling the royal seal of approval.
Photos of his Skype call were posted straight to the British Monarchy’s Flickr account.
The British royals aren’t short of spends, so they’re probably not using Skype just to make cheap international calls.
But it did get us thinking about how the royal family might be using Skype.
The Queen snapped up an iPad 2 after catching Prince William and Harry playing with their tablets – so maybe she’s using Skype to chat, SMS and video chat from her iPad?
Wills and Harry are a right playful pair of heirs. Are they using Skype to instant message and swap funny emoticons?
Harry’s still friendly with his ex, Chelsy Davey. Do they video chat when she’s in South Africa?
Kate Middleton – sorry, Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge – is super-close to her family. Is she using Skype to call mum Carole and sister Pippa for style tips?
Wills and Kate are often separated while he’s on official tours and working as a helicopter search and rescue pilot. Maybe they use Skype-to-Skype calls, instant messages and mobile video chat to keep things fresh?
What do you think the royals get up to on Skype?
