Skype 5.3 for Windows hotfix – fixed echo123 adding to contacts on every startup and script error pop-ups

Today we have released a hotfix for Skype 5.3 for Windows.

We would recommend for everyone to upgrade to this newly released build right now. In case you notice something going trough some bulky corners then please let us know with raising issue on our public issue tracker or then discuss all the topics on our forums.

With this release, 5.3.0.111, we have fixed following issues:

Fixed issues:

Category Description
Contacts list Skype was adding echo123 to the contact list on every Skype startup
Video Calling Skype video was freezing sometimes on group video calls.
Friend Finder Skype seldom crashed when adding a friend
Skype Home and Facebook Channel Skype displayed “script error” pop-ups sometimes to the user

Known issues:

Category Description Workaround
Skype Home and Facebook Channel Mentioned areas might not always load for user and display instead “spinning circle” animation None available.

    i STILL have problems with my group calling video it either freezes me or i have no picture of me..it gets affravating when i am paying for this program,,

    I have a computer running Win2000 All SP applied. I get a failure after installing Skype 5.3
    failed to get proc address for setdlldirectoryw (kernel32.dll). Are you going to fix this problem. I see I am not the only one on WIN2K with this issue.
