Skype 5.0 for Mac hotfix

Today we have released a hotfix for Skype 5.0 for Mac.

In the updated release we are solving few issues what our users have been letting us know about. The most important fix is that Skype is not taking ownership of the camera anymore while it’s running.

We recommend for everyone to upgrade to the newly released build and to let us know what you think about Skype for Mac by discussing on our forums or in case you see some glitch in Skype then please report it on our issue tracker.

Fixed issues:

Category Description
Video calling Skype was taking ownership of the video camera
Video calling Skype crashed after connecting video camera using firewire cable
Calling Seldom Skype crashed on ending call to landline
General Skype crashed on Leopard when closing in application credit payment window

Known issues:

Application Skype can feel slow when waking up from sleep after being in sleep for long period with 100+ active conversations Be patient when Skype resumes, it’s best to not put computer with Skype on to sleep for long periods (3+ days)
Application Occasional freeze for Leopard users if they right click to open context menus when running PGP Desktop application Upgrade to the latest version of PGP Desktop
Call In Leopard can not press number keys on keyboard to generate touch tones Use buttons in dial pad (CMD + 2)
Call Some users cannot leave a voicemail None available at the moment

    So you tell me to upgrade. I do. Now cant sign in to skype. Once again lots of geeks trying to make things better but they forget some of us actually have to use this stuff. Wanna tell me how to fix this?
