Group chat is one of my favorites also. We recently were doing edits on some webpages here at Skype and we had the whole team on a group chat and were able to quickly paste in URL’s and info that needed correctly and collaborate live, versus sending “reply-to-all” emails that took far too long. Thanks for calling out this feature!
Yes, group chat is really useful. This is a tool that gives a lot of potential for collaboration and getting work done. Thank you for the comment! Terry
Its often exhausting to keep up with technology but Skype really does a great job making life easier! Love Terry’s interviewing style.
Thanx for the comment. Enjoy the blog
With a few minor tweaks Skype could be improved and create a more user friendly experience.
Group video calling really needs to be able to screen share when you have more than 1 person on a call.
Adding contacts should be easier, as many newbies do not know how. You have “click to call” buttons on your website, but we should also have “add to contact” buttons, as many times it is not appropriate to call someone at 3 am just to add them to your contacts.
Skype search really needs to be capitalized on and change it to a system similar to adwords by Google. You then can have companies paying for advertising on Skype search. Overall Skype it really getting much better lately and the future looks promising.
Very good points and thank you for sharing these, Craig. I have to agree with you that these types of additions would be helpful. Some of them have come up before and are being considered.
Can’t promise anything yet but please know that we hear you and appreciate what you’re asking for. I like the “add to contact” option you suggested as it is similar to what we’re used to on my social media platforms.
Thanx for your kind remarks. Stay tuned and I look forward to hearing from you again in the future. Terry
