Skype Multi-Chat For Business

Skype Multi-Chat For Business

You know about Skype for audio. You get clear audio communication that sounds eerily close to being next to the person with whom you’re talking.

You know about Skype for video. You can see the other person. Now with Group Video Calling (GVC) you can see up to 10 people on the screen simultaneously with Skype for Windows 5.1 (patience Mac users — ours is on the way!).

But do you know about the benefits of Skype multi-chat?

What is Skype multi-chat, you ask? Well, multi-chat gives you the ability to do project collaboration spanning time and distance easily.

How It Works

Skype chat gives you the ability to connect with others through text messaging that is retained for a given project. You can add people you choose to the chat that is on-going.

This gives the added ability to bring the “new kid on the block” up to speed on what has happened thus far with the project (just read the previous chat messages).

Skype’s multi-chat ability allows multiple people to interface with each other spanning time zones (important in today’s business climate), time periods (many multi-chats can span for weeks or months) and, of course, geography. Yes, it is far better than a mass of email messages scattered back and forth. This is true collaboration and information sharing.

Business Benefits

Skype multi chat gives you the ability to have several key people involved with a project. Each contributor can add ideas, web links and even rich media like audio and video.

Many businesses are now using it to solve complex problems related to market research, new product development and extended brainstorming.

Learn More About It

You can learn about it by enabling a Chat session with a given contact. You can send text messages and links, for instance while in a conversation with a contact.

You can also get help by typing “/help” (without the quotes) during a chat.

Skype multi-chat is yet another way you can leverage your contacts and get more work done.

The best part I haven’t told you yet —like Skype to Skype audio and video calls Skype’s chat feature is free!

Go ahead. Multi-chat all you want. No charge to you!

Collaborate away!

Was just on the site…..doesn’t look free?? There is a trial, which is free, but the overall offering looks like the feature costs money.

Thank you for the comment, Ellsgolf. Yes, Multi-chat is free (nice price!). Personally, I’ve used it for years and been delighted with it. No charge at all. Other services like calling regular phone numbers, group video chat and other premium services have a fee. But for multi-chat, you get it at no charge. Enjoy! Terry
