Group video calling ready for primetime
Group video calling has shed its ‘beta’ label and officially joined our product line-up with the introduction of the new version of Skype for Windows.
It’s available as part of the new Premium package which offers group video calling together with access to live chat customer support.
You can buy a day pass for $4.99/€3.49/£2.99* or a monthly subscription for just $8.99/€5.99/£4.99† per month.
If you sign up for group video calling in the first month, you’ll receive a 33% discount on 3 and 12 month subscriptions. In addition, you’ll get a 25% discount off an HD webcam.
The new version of Skype for Windows also includes a number of improvements to video stability and quality, and we recommend that you download it now.
* $5.74/€4.01/£3.44 including VAT where applicable.
† $10.34/€6.89/£5.74 including VAT where applicable. A fair usage policy applies.
Cool! Will this work on mobile?
how does pricing work for business users? is it 6 euro/mo per person in my company?
where can i download the song from the video in good quality?
A bit expensive. And extremely late. I wish Skype would quit with the buying companies and focus more on it’s products.
Very very impressive work, Skype!
Any timeline for group calling support in the Linux app? Thanks!
Sincerely,
-daniel

I would like to know how to disable the splash notification about group video calling that appears every time I turn skype on. So far it forced me to revert to version 4, and I’ll wait with updates till it disappears.
One time notification is enough, thank you very much. Now that I know it’s out there I will install it if and when necessary, not sooner.
