I had a problem with downloading skype 5.0. File would not download correctly.

Solution when promted to Run the file make sure you go to options, there you will see to files checked out with green. You will need to check one more for plug in eather firefox or internet explorer. Once I did that my file downloaded and now I can call. I wish there was someone on skype to help right a way. I was dealing with this for sometime. I am glad its over now.

Thank you for this release! This is a vast upgrade over Skype 5.0! The contact list is small and neat and finally usable on a MacBook. The text in the chat windows now uses a reasonable size and spacing, which makes for greatly improved usability. About the only thing that’s missing is the ability to display the menubar status icon in black and white, like the Apple ones; currently, I have to turn it off because the color icons are too distracting.
Still, this is a much better and far more Mac-like interface than 5.0′s! I recommend that everyone who is still using that beta (all four of them) upgrade to this stable version as soon as possible.

I can not log into the network of Skype. I have tried all of the latest version for Mac OS 2.8 and 5.0 (Mac OS 10.6.2)
Unable to connect to the network Skype.
    Help!

As a charter Skype user who’s gone professional with Skype, thank you for this alternative to the 5.0 Beta. The latter really is a travesty, almost a user-experience joke. Someone’s been too enamored of mashups and not paying attention to how Skype is actually being used.
