When will the Symbian Skype client for the Nokia N96 support Video calls ?
Everything else works good on it.
i have some problems with skype on my nokia N97. After installing the application, when i try to use it, my phone reboot automatically. Can you help me please?
I hope that you still friends with “fring”.
We all hope that you still friends with “fring”.
Gave up with the previous version on my Nokia N85. Downloaded the latest version today. Either reboots phone as soon as test call attempted, or a few seconds after Skype is loaded. It’s gone from my phone! Back to Fring!
Same problem to me. The only good working application is Fring. Since Skype cut- off the connection with Skype, you can only reach me by Sip, GTalk, MSN or Fring itself. I hope Skype will reconnect Fring soon, with( or without) videocall…..
and me too! My favorite is fring. Sometime, i use nimbuzz but i prefer fring. The skype official software can’t work on my phone (nokia N97).
I hope skype will reconnect Fring.
WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO MAKE AN ANDROID APPLICATION?
Have you not been watching the news, Android is extremely popular with phones like Evo 4g why is skype exclusive to Verizon, what kind of deal is that? Skype make an application with video conferencing for Android thats all there is to it.
If you can’t do that give me job and I will.
NOKIA 5800
((
The program is full of bugs and shortcomings… AGAIN
Just a few to start with:
1) Phone address book does NOT work from “calling phones” menu. It shows: “Contact has no phone numbers”. Thus, unless you allow phone contacts to be shown in the main contact list you can’t call them.
2) It can NOT recognize a phone number (always call to skype to skype) in a skype contact information . Even previous version for symbian could do this !!!
3) Is it too difficult to make use of light sensor? When I make a normal call or use Fringe it switches phones screen off and on (when my ear is close to the phone).
4) Is the usage of front camera for video calls is out of the question?
5) SILK codec… Does it ring a bell?
P.S Very disappointed user
I also have a 5800 and I can’t get my complete phonebook into Skype- it won’t even import the name when I go to hat section. I need this when using Skype to phone their private phones on my account.
Also- Fring is a very good piece of software that also enables video calls on my phone [with a bit of a delay]. Please reconsider banning the use of Fring since I would prefer to use it.
Nokia E63-2
I just purchased the E63-2 for exclusive use with Skype on wifi. Sound quality is very good, thank you. I have the latest soft/firmware from both Skype and Nokia. Three items for the wish list and please hurry. 1) Ringtone volume is not adjustable and is quite low allowing for missed calls. Tone selection would also be nice. 2) Automatic reconnect after a brief wifi loss would be helpful. Without an auto reconnect = no calls inbound. 3) Default 3 digit area codes for out going calls would be nice in North America. Thanks for all you have done. Long time Skyper
I’ve just used it using my E52-1 unit! It’s sound quality is supercool and indeed great! I like it really. But I am also hoping that in the future skype video call would be supported! How about if there is an automatic update notification if there is one is available. Thank you!
I can´t use Skype in my Nokia E71 since Skype cut- off the connection with Fring. I hope Skype working with Fring, allow soon voice calls, do you have an estimated date to solve the problem ?
On my Nokia E71 for 10-15 min standby (without chat) the traffic is about 1mb. With fring is about 500 kb with many chat sessions for 30 min. PLEASE THINK ABOUT TRAFFIC OPTIMIZATION.
A pay 1mb (UP+DWL) for 1.25 Euro via mobile operator.
Loving the Skype upgrade on the E63. Would be helpful if I could playback voicemails via the speaker and not just the normal handset. Have just convinced 2 more friends to adopt the E63 and Skype.
works like a charm on my E71, the only missing thing is the video calling option
On N97mini, upgraded firmware like you advised, and now skype.com/m says “No Skype for your device, check later” – very funny
