Just upgraded so Snow Leopord and updated Skype to the latest. But the integration with address book stopped working.

Whereas before I could right-click on a phone number in Address Book and dial it in Skype. Now that feature is gone. Any word about this issue?

Skype on my Macbook Pro just ceased to work. Won’t start. I threw it out and re-installed the latest version. Still won’t work. trashed the preference files and re-installed. Still won’t work. Crash reported submitted to apple. Hang reports available if anyone wants them. Help!

It’s not working for me at all!

I’m running SL 10.6.2 and Skype 2.8.0.851 (ie, with the hotfix) and Address Book STILL goes ‘whaaaat?’ when I right-click on a phone number to ‘Call with Skype’ or ‘Send SMS with Skype’. The contextual menu I get is the standard one (ie, Search in Spotlight, Search in Google, Look up in Dictionary, etc). I’ve tried everything I can think of – trashed Prefs for both applications, restarted, reinstalled Skype, etc etc etc – and STILL NOTHING! Any clues, anyone? Please help, somebody – I use Skype as a key part of my business, and it’s a complete pain working without the Dial from Skype options.

I’m just started having crash issues with Skype; my crashlog is nearly identical to zamachita’s. I can’t seem to fix it no matter what I do. ..:: sadness ::..

I just signed up for Skype, plunked down my $10, downloaded the latest (2.8.0.851), and same here. Running a MacBook Pro on 10.5.8.

Solved this problem by tossing out the preferences, which are located in /Users/YourUserName/Library/Application Support/Skype.

Throwing out the Skype folder allowed me to immediately log in.

I deleted the preferences, no luck here. This issue seems to have been going on for years– every time there’s a Mac update, Skype crashes and they take months to get it fixed. Makes me want to try VoxOx.

I just updated to Skype 2.8 and I’m seeing the crash as well. Once I disconnect my 3rd party USB Cam, it goes away.

Feel free to contact me if you need any info.

I am running Skype 2.8 on Mac OS X which has worked fine up until today. I tried video calling, and the built in iSight works, the sound works (with and without headphones) but the microphone doesn’t. I tried the built in mic, an external mic (on apple headphones) and a logitech “Band Hero” mic (yes, I was desperate). I have checked all microphone settings, nothing is muted, and yet, my friend (on a hp netbook) still can’t hear me.

Any suggestions how to fix this??

Downloaded Skype Version 2.8.0.851 (the newest hotfix for Mac). I’m Running OS X 10.6.4 and get the error everyone else is posting about: Can’t connect to Skype. Please check your network settings and try again. I even tried deleting the plist files and the Skype app and reinstalling. Same problem. Any ideas?
