Spreading our wings – Skype partners with Peace One Day
Through our quest to build great products, the work that we do at Skype also has phenomenal potential to remove barriers to communication. For those who aren’t already taking advantage of them, free voice and video calls have immense transformative power, allowing people across the globe to connect to one another without the restrictions of cost or time.
This in turn provides the opportunity, among other things, for intercultural communication and the co-operation necessary for the peaceful resolution of conflict and the continued survival of humanity. And that’s why we’re partnering with Peace One Day to help make Peace Day, 21 September, an annual day of global cease-fire and non-violence to save innocent lives.
Peace One Day looks to engage all sectors of society, including governments, organisations of the United Nations system, regional and non-governmental organisations and people like you in observance of Peace Day on 21 September each year.
