Hi, I am using V 4.0.0.227 on WinXP, Hebrew version.
I’m trying to import contacts from my Gmail account, but I don’t see the option.
I understand this issue was resolved in V 3.2.0.53, so where is it now?
Thanks,
T.
Still not working Win 7 RC 7201 crashes after loading contact list????
I have upgraded to version 4.0.0.227 from version 4.0.0.224. Snapshot works only randomly. Does not work most of the time. Reversed back to 224, problem solved. I tried 4.1 (Beta) same result, but I see this is a known issue with 4.1.
I have just downloaded 4.0.0.227 and I’m running Windows Vista Home Premium, 64bit O/S. Will this fix the problem I’ve been having when I am on a video call with skype my whole system freezes? This has been a very frustrating issue.
this now even works great with windows 7
It seems that in version 4 the function “Search for people who are in SkypeMe mode” have been removed? Why?
Does smb know HOW to VIEW/JOIN the history from previous profiles installed on different laptops? I use skype nearly 2 years and have a lot of IM histories in different folders. It`s boring to swap files or folders in ~AppData of local profile to find some info. Is it some way to open history in txt? Notepad and Lister cannot provide adequate reading format… Thank a lot in advanvace for solution.
I am using version 4.1.0.141 and have selected the Privacy option “allow IMs from people in my Contact list only” but I still keep receiving IMs from random strangers who have “added you as a contact” (usually the sort that say “L@@K at this” or “See my profile!” — unsolicited attention.) How do I stop this from happening? Do I need to open a new Skype account? This never used to happen but now is happening all the time.
I was using the Skype 4.1 verison. I was having some issue on my computer and had to uninstall Skype. Now when I download it again this message pops up. ” The files that Skype needs to work can’t be found. Please download and reinstall Skype to fix this problen.” I have done this several times and can not get it to work again.
What should I do?
I am using Skype 4.0.0.206. Secunia says this is vulnerable but I can’t update it to a newer version. I get message “Installing Skype failed; code 1601″.”Windows installer service could not be accessed. Verify that Windows installer service is properly registered”.
Can anyone help me solve this problem please. I am running XP SP3.

I have been experiencing problems with Skype while using 64 bit Vista which has been recently upgraded with SP2. I can logon and within one minute after loading my contacts it locks up, stops working and I have to shut it down. Anyone else experiencing this problems? Is there a fix for it?

I have Windows 7 64 bit and I’m experiencing a similar problem: Skype often crashes. I’m also looking for a fix.
Windows 7, Skype 4.2.158 – getting message ‘The files that Skype needs to work can’t be found. Please download and reinstall Skype to fix this problem.’ I did and it didn’t. What’s the answer?? I have tried as Admin and as Standard. Neither works. This is a new laptop. It worked on my Windows XP workstation just fine.
