'Silver surfer' celebrates his 90th on Skype
Don Lee, a retired executive, who lives a couple hours outside Chicago, celebrated his 90th birthday recently on Skype, connecting with video and audio with children and grandchildren around the United States and France. The World War II veteran told the US blog a bit about his life. In a video session, he held an ashtray souvenir made from a British artillery shell. He said being able to do the show-and-tell is one of the “great things” about Skype. This silver surfer was especially proud to receive greetings from his granddaughter Allison Gardiner, who was in Paris.
Ya! That’s my awesome Grandpa!
Bonjour Allie-
I live about 45 miles outside Chicago and enjoyed reading your grandpa’s story about his 90th birthday. He sounds like one neat guy using Skype to communicate with his family who don’t live near him.
