Low rates on Skype-enabled 3 mobiles in the UK and Ireland
As you may have heard, something groundbreaking’s happening in the land of 3.
A software update being pushed to handsets in the UK and Ireland from tomorrow will let you call landlines and mobiles abroad using Skype’s paid-for services from your 3 Skypephone or Skype-enabled 3 mobile. 3 Skypephone users – both S1 and S2 – along with people using Skype on 3 mobiles will be able to take advantage of Skype’s low rates to stay in touch with non Skype users around the world.
Now you’ll have no excuse not to get in touch with your friends, relatives and colleagues, even if they’re on a beach in Sydney or a hotel in Rome 
Will this update for skypeout work on pay as you go aswell? It would be nice to make clear if they are not. Is skypein enabled on skypephone ?
Yes – it will work on Pay As You Go as well as Pay Monthly. And I’m afraid you can’t use online numbers (SkypeIn) on Skype-enabled 3 mobiles at the moment.
A workaround for SkypeIn numbers would be to forward the calls to your mobile at the local rate isn’t it ? Though if SkypeIn numbers were available I would ditch my current device immediately…
How do I get the update?
Will it be also available in Italy with tre italia? If so, When could we expect to have this upgrade?
