Skype e il suo MILIARDESIMO download
Un mese fa, Skype ha festeggiato il suo quinto anniversario. Domenica, la società di Tallinn, ha fissato nel panorama del Web 2.0, un’altra pietra miliare: il miliardesimo download del software Skype.
Josh Silverman, CEO di Skype, ha dato ieri così l’annuncio:
“Pochi minuti fa, è successo qualcosa di meraviglioso. Qualcuno, da qualche parte nel mondo, ha scaricato la miliardesima copia di Skype. Un successo travolgente che ci ha portato, in soli tre anni e mezzo (da Agosto 2003 a Febbraio 2007) a raggiungere i 500 milioni di downloads. Siamo molto fieri quindi che, in così poco tempo poco – più di un anno e mezzo -, questo risultato è raddoppiato”.
Silverman dice anche che Skype non si ferma sugli allori e continua:
“La nostra ambizione è quella di rendere Skype disponibile su molti device in modo tale che le persone siano più vicine ai loro amici, a parenti e colleghi – e in qualsiasi parte del mondo – , sul posto di lavoro, a casa, a giocare, e… su qualunque dispositivo.”
E’ difficile, nel bene e nel male, riuscire a trovare una realtà così “travolgente” (per usare un termine di Josh) come Skype. Per arrivare a 2 miliardi come si fa? Provate a passare di QUA, intanto.
