Introducing the Skype Advice & Services Directory
Hi, my name is Andrus, I work in marketing and some of you might remember me posting here before.
It’s been a bit more than a year since we introduced Skype Prime™ Beta, a marketplace for voice and video services which brings together those people who have expertise, knowledge, advice or skills to sell to others who are seeking advice and happy to pay for it.
Since then we’ve seen many businesses – both small and large – sign up for Skype Prime to provide services to the many people who are seeking those services. The most popular services we’ve seen so far fit into the following categories:
- Business & Personal Finance
- Computer & Internet
- Language Lessons & Translations
- Relationship Advice & Counselling
- Spiritual & Astrology
- Tutoring & Homework
However, it’s been pretty challenging for people on Skype to find these service providers unless you knew exactly where to go or stumbled upon them. Today, we’re addressing service provider find-ability with the launch of the new Skype Advice and services directory.

]]>The new directory gives people more options to find the advice and services they want. For example, you can use the directory to help find a Chinese language tutor for your upcoming trip to Beijing or someone to help you with IT troubleshooting.
Existing Skype Prime service providers will be listed in the directory, so this automatically brings more exposure to their listings which were previously difficult to find. And when a new service provider registers their service offering, they will have the option to create a public profile that will be listed in the online directory.
We’re excited to expand our marketplace for voice and video services, give our Skype Prime providers more exposure and connect them with people looking for their expertise and advice.
Go and give it a try and let us know what you think!

Will this work with skype software for mac?
johnnyo312: Yes, you can use Skype Prime services with Skype for Mac as well.
I am interested in becoming a service provider, but am a Mac user. When will I be able to become a provider using a Mac?
Yes, I too am a Skype for Mac user. I went looking for this feature in my Skype application and was quite confused when I could not find it. I then surmised that it was a Windows feature only. Now I have a Windows system I can use it on but I would rather use my Mac if I could.
