Thanks for the new version of SKYPE. Living in Costa Rica I depend on Skype. However running Vista OS has been a major war with skype. EVERY time I make a call I get the blue screen CRASH DUMPING message. I generally use Modzilla Browser and Avast anti-virus. Any recommendations? Here is the error message if it helps someone resolve this problem.

    Problem signature:
    Problem Event Name: BlueScreen
    OS Version: 6.0.6000.2.0.0.768.3
    Locale ID: 5130

    Additional information about the problem:
    BCCode: d1
    BCP1: 00000008
    BCP2: 00000002
    BCP3: 00000000
    BCP4: 8A78A0F5
    OS Version: 6_0_6000
    Service Pack: 0_0
    Product: 768_1

Files that help describe the problem:
    C:WindowsMinidumpMini013008-01.dmp
    C:UsersLENOVOAppDataLocalTempWER-42260-0.sysdata.xml
    C:UsersLENOVOAppDataLocalTempWERCD6B.tmp.version.txt

    It’s geek to me.

    Gracias,

    Elena

PS after 20 years, I will NEVER buy another MS software product.

    Hello Raul,

It is nice to know that Skype keeps up with the issues experienced by us users. I just installed the new 3.8 version and checked for updates which led me to the knowledge that there is a hotfix, namely 3.8.0.139.

However no where on this website have I found the download for this, only description and what the fix addresses. It would be really nice if the website designers would make it easier to navigate to the fixes. For example just getting to this page with your information took some searching.

Please let me know how I can get the hotfix.

Another matter: Whenever I check for updates and the system finds one, it NEVER installs from my open Skype program. I always have to come to the website of Skype. Is there a glitch here as well?

By the way, I use Vista.

I look forward to your reply. Please contact me via Skype. My user name is dollahan. I hardly come in here.

    Very Sincerely,

    James

perhaps related is the observation that Skype crashes for me every time I disconnect from a VPN connection. I use my laptop at work and home and have a VPN connection to access equipment at work. If Skype is running before I connect to work it invariably crashes after I exit the connection. I’m using 4.1.0.166
