Skype 2.7 for Mac hotfix
We’ve released a hotfix version of Skype 2.7 for Mac today. In this new release we’ve fixed a number of problems from previous versions.
We would like to thank everyone who has given their thoughts, feedback and feelings to us. You are welcome to continue discussing Skype for Mac in the Skype Community and reporting issues in our public issue tracker Jira. 
The main changes from the previous version are that we have added support for uPnP, NAT-PMP and authenticated proxy which will enable seamless conversations without the need to change any network options.
The changes in 2.7.0.330 in comparision with the previous build are:

* bugfix: 3-4 second delay when hanging up video call
* bugfix: sometimes Skype crashed when applying changes in Edit Profile window
* bugfix: “Add to Contacts” command was not working for 1-on-1 chats in history view
* bugfix: “Add to list” button was cut off in Start Conference and Add Users to Chat windows on Tiger
* bugfix: Safari 3.1 (4525.13) chats time-name were getting cut off.
* bugfix: Abnormal exit on declining two sent files.
* bugfix: Add and remove buttons were cut off in Send Contacts window on Leopard
* bugfix: Add to Contacts command didn’t work in the context menu of the history list
* bugfix: Address Book phone numbers with custom tags were not shown in Skype
* bugfix: Call Transfer menu not updating when new contacts were added
* bugfix: Chats were loosing their topics
* bugfix: crash/hangup on skype credit change when old SMS chats open for long time
* bugfix: default call window height was too small
* bugfix: do not add chats without activity timestamp to event history

* bugfix: it was not possible to use the context menus of conference call participants when the call was muted or on hold
* bugfix: it was possible to change the value of sound level indicators in conference calls
* bugfix: Leading 0 was removed when user tried to call to Italian landline number – they need leading 0
* bugfix: missed events badge was missing from chat drawer after Skype restart
* bugfix: outgoing calls that went to voicemail didn’t have icons in the history view
* bugfix: own voice level indicator was still moving when conference call was muted
* bugfix: Skype crashed after “Delete all SMS Messages” was pressed
* bugfix: sometimes Skype got stuck in the login process when Address Book integration was enabled
* bugfix: sometimes window artifacts appeared when having two simultaneous calls
* bugfix: Status does not reset correctly after screensaver triggers away if Set my status to Away when inactive for 0 minutes was set
* bugfix: strange sound start happening on end of the call (Apple Bug ID# 5796436)
* bugfix: when being signed in on at least two Macs and answering a call on one machine, then ringing didn’t not stop on the second machine
* bugfix: When chats are closed after draging them around, wrong chat gets activated
* bugfix: when placing a call, then sometimes the word “Button” was briefly displayed instead of the phone number
* bugfix: Word wrap in Public chat settings window
* bugfix: Workaround for strange large number startTimestamp on some chats (preventing chat history links displaying)
* bugfix: Yellow alert were hiding chat topics quite often.
* change: Replaced SkypeIn with Online Number
* change: increased minimum size of SkypeOut Caller Window
* change: New User Registration Window: By default, eMail notifications checked
* change: pop-up dialog to enable or disable Address Book integration
* change: sometimes duration of some calls was displayed as 1193 hours in the call history
* change: Sound event for contact coming online is now off by default
* Skype API: BTN_RELEASED NO clears quickfilter field now (previously removed the last character only)
Skype newest version crashes. When the person answering the call answers, Skype crashes. What’s up Skype? Any suggestions anyone?
Running latest Leopard on Macbook Pro and latest Skype version. Problem: Skype launches, comes to the spinning grey wheel (yeah), shows contacts for a sec and then quits unexpectedly (grief).
This problem seems to have “evolved” from a one time occurrence fixed by a reboot. Skype ran perfect for days and it happened again and more often and now nothing goes. Skype is dead.
Tried this to fix it: Re-installing, deleting shared.xml from support-folder, repairing permissions and pulling my hair thinking this probably is a Leopard-bug.
Downloaded the new Skype and it quits as soon as the test call is answered. Have deleted and reinstalled; have checked to make sure OS is up to date. Nothing helps. Running Mac Tiger 10.4.11. Is there a patch or a fix for this?
Several problems plague this 2.7.0.330 version on Leopard on an Intel based computer, including the following:
1. The SMS preference will NOT allow you to change to another phone number then back again! (If you have your mobile number set and then change it temporarily to another mobile number, it refuses to allow you to put your old number back in even if you attempt to resend the code to the mobile, it will not send it.)
2. The Audio settings keep fluctuating thereby causing a squeal in the audio/video chats. (For some reason it causes the Audio settings in the Leopard control panel to increase thereby causing a feed-back that results in high pitched squealing and echos in the calls.)
3. SMS does not send to Movilnet cellphones in Venezuela from the US, no matter the settings in SMS preferences.
I have confirmed the above issues on a Powerbook G4 with Leopard as well!
i have a macbook pro on leopard 10.5.4 , and i can not make a call through skype , it crashes the moment it coneccts to a call, and quits!! what can i do? does anybody know how to fix this???

I have a G5 PowerMac running 10.5.4 and downloaded the latest Skype. It now crashes each time I try to make a call. I can send messages but thats all. Sent an e-mail to support and they suggested trashing everything Skype on my computer and starting over after a reboot and it still crashes. Every time it does, I send a message to Apple to about it.
Any chance of making Skype open source?
Now that the API “BTN_RELEASED NO” behaviour has been changed, how are we supposed to delete a single digit from the dial string?? Is there any way to implement a backspace?
Having the same issue! Running Mac OS 10.4.11 on Mac Pro Intel. Skpe just completely quits on making a call! Have deleted and reinstalled several times in hope but, nothing! Whats going on? We need support here! its seems like its a common issue too. Sort it out Skpe!
i have a macbook and i am a skype user my audio settings are terrible but there seems to be non to adjust in the skype software, and if i were to fix the settings on my macbook it doesnt apply to it because my mircofone and volume elsewhere work great the only problem is skype? what should i do

I have a macbook (latest) and I have similar problem as reported above when trying to connect: the gray wheel keeps turning around and I can’t connect.. however, though I can’t initiate connections (because main window is waiting for connection), I can receive calls and communicate as receiver (aside from connection, everything fine, video, audio, msg, all OK)..
Tried to reinstall application many times, reboot, etc.. in vain.
If you have a solution, kindly let me know. Thank you.

I am running skype on correct operating system and using the up to date down load. it crashes everytime i make a call or when a call is answered HELP. it seems this is a common problem with other Mac users. will this bug be fixed. whole community is being left out of skype usage

I’ve just downloaded the latest skype 2.7 etc. (hotfix) and the application keeps crashing. It crashes when I test the audio and if I try to change the volume and in a lot of other circumstances (can’t keep track of all of them). Am I doing something wrong? I’m running mac os 10.5.6. Thanks

I have exactly the same problem. I’m using a MacBook running Mac OS 10.5.6 attempting to run this version of Skype. It loads, but when I try to send a message, call or do anything, it crashes. Absolute rubbish. I was previously trying the beta, but that did the same thing.
I will have to look at other services now, as you seem to have been neglecting the Mac since May last year! It’s a shame as every Mac user I know uses Skype.

I can’t believe how long this problem has been going on for with no response or help from Skype. They seriously need to prune down the client and make it more simple. It’s become bloated and apparently Skype can’t even keep up with the bug fixes anymore. I’d dump half the features the latest client has for basic voice to work, and not constantly crash all the time.
