Ta-dah! 12m concurrent users

This post has been a few days coming and the news has already been reported elsewhere. But in keeping with tradition, here’s to confirm that just six weeks after we broke the 11m concurrent-user barrier, we’ve now passed the 12m mark.

I’ll refrain from sharing fun low-calorie factoids about the meaning of 12 million this time. Can’t use that trick too often — it to needs feel fresh the next time around.

If you would just give us an easy way to install Skype on 64 bit Linux my guess is that number would increase even more…

and perhaps if there were a simple way to stop once and for all Skype Spam via unwanted Chat invitations and requests to add as a Contact. My list of blocked invitations grows mountainous! By golly, the spammers just keep on and on taking a new account. Please, let’s have some help.

Congratulations, I’m the 12 million’th user! Just ordered the works from the Skype Shop to enhance the experience. Specifically, I ordered the SPH200D cordless phone and handset. The site mentions a rebate form at checkout. No rebate form and NO ONE seems to know how to obtain one. I’ve exchanged emails with Skype Shop personnel and NetGear. This is an idea company…any ideas on how to receive the advertised rebate and/or form?
    Thanks

glmoyer45: You need to configure your Skype program to only allow your approved contacts to have access to you. If you have it set to allow the whole world contact you, you will continue to get those annoying requests. I get a few a year even with it set to contacts only, but that sure beats the constant flow of them as you are receiving. Good luck!
