PrettyMay Call Center for Skype

[PrettyMay](http://www.prettymay.net) Call Center for Skype (PMCCS) is a 100% software-based call center solution for Skype. It allows small or medium sized businesses to quickly and affordably implement a Skype PBX (aka PABX) system with auto-attendant, interactive voice response (IVR), extension transferring, call recording and personalized voicemail capabilities – and a lot more as well.

How does PMCCS work?

Your customers contact you by calling your Skype Name, a [Skype Button](http://www.skype.com/share/buttons/) displayed on your website, or a [SkypeIn number]( http://www.skype.com/allfeatures/onlinenumber/) , PMCCS automatically answers the call, and leads the caller into the built-in IVR system, then transfers the call to the appropriate agent or staff member depending on the button the caller pressed.

You can have up to 30 simultaneous Skype or SkypeIn lines supported with the PrettyMay Call Center for Skype. The diagram below shows how the system works for inbound calling.

pmcc_inbound_flow.png

Pretty May can also be used to route outbound calls via Skype. Find out more [here]( http://www.prettymay.net/callcenter/index.htm)

You can follow these [step by step instructions]( http://www.prettymay.net/callcenter_faq/Index.php?sid=94789&lang=en&action=artikel&cat=8&id=24&artlang=en) to see how to set up and install Pretty May Call Center for Skype.

When will someone figure out how to use Skype in a terminal server environment?

  5. bruce_bk said 1951 days ago

This is interesting. One problem. I used to use skype and buy credits and pay with paypal. I got services, you got money. Right away.

Then you decided that one cannot pay without a credit card. That was a dumb move on your part.

Now you get nothing from me, nor any of my clients. I am not buying on credit, nor will. trying to force such on users looks very bad on you.

Sound smart to you? Developers and their clients looking for another program, not giving you their money because you want to force getting credit card detaisl?

    Very bad business!

  6. falconflyver said 1947 days ago

I do not understand the problem you are stating, as Paypal is still an option for payment!

    great product.

I tryied the reial version but the normal telephones can not activate the extensions numbers, when any numer is presse in the normal telephone the system do not react to transfer the call to the extension. I sent mail to PrettyMay support but I did not received answer after 5 days I sent it. Bad product.

“Sorry for the trouble,We havn’t got your email,So I should explain at here.

    prettymay-support | Monday, Mar 10″

Your post that you were going top explain it here was yesterday and still nothing. I am anxious to understand your position as I want Pretty May for my own environment. I have two Skype accounts, one Pro one Unlimited (will become Pro in August when it expires), and two Skype-in numbers.

I want to have calls come in on both SkypeIn numbers and be automatically based on the SkypeIn account to the appropriate call tree, without intervention. Same same for calls, etc coming in on the Skype to Skype network. Calls for SkypeA and In-A can follow same routing in, and Shype-B and In-B would be processed the same, but along a different path and greetings than the “A” pair.

    So… the short version is:

Can Pretty May discern which Skype-In line and/or Skype account a call is coming in and differentiate.

I would like a seperate greeting for “A” and “B” without the caller having to press anything? I don’t want the callers to “A” to know about entity “B” and vice versa.

Well, not so short, because I have lots of other questions about Pretty May.

Then comes the Voice add-on. What do I need that for? Is it just for voice mail? I have voicemail with my Pro account; won’t that work? DO I need it for call recording? I purchased licenses for Pamela Pro, which handles my automatic call, video, and text recording as well as voicemail. Pamela Pro does a fine job and I would like to continue using it.

It seems that Pretty May may be overkill for me… If I could simply run two Skype accounts on one computer and be able to switch between the easily and at will, my needs would be mey. Right now I have two computers, each running a Skype identity. Would be great to have the kids’ accounts as well so they could answer the calls and transfer to whomever…

Please go easy on me folks, I am a newbie.

Here’s what I need to know, and i need people to talk to me like a 3rd grader. I have an inbound call center now. I want to expand but to an outbound call center, and I would like to use skype and pretty may(I think). Here’s what I need to understand, can anyone help me?? I want 10-20 booths, each person having the ability to call customers on skype. I want to be able to listen to recorded calls (as well as live calls if possible). What do I need to make this work? Also, Is there a way to make the outbound call, pitch my customer, assuming they buy, then conference them in with another landline?

    Thank you

OK, here’s my review of Pretty May Call Center (PMCC). We’ve been using it for our company as our sole communication source for about 3 months now. We have 3 physical locations, approx 12 agents and have set up the PMCC with three different auto attendants. Here are a few things people should know:
    1) For multiple auto attendants, etc you MUST purchase the PMCC Enterprise edition which is approx $500. There is no way around that.
    2) If you’re looking for PMCC to function as a true IP PBX that you configure and then essentially “set it and forget it”. PMCC is NOT the product for you. To be clear, this is not because of a limitation or poor design of PMCC; rather, it’s due to some of the behavior inherent in the Skype user account software. PMCC works by you creating a dedicated and separate Skype user account and then having you replicate that single dedicated Skype account by however many “lines” you’d like for your system. We run 8 concurrent lines. That means the same single dedicated Skype account on our PMCC PC is open and active 8 times. I’ve checked with Skype and you CAN NOT disable the Skype feedback pop-up windows asking for you to rate the quality of a Skype call. What happens then on a PMCC PC? You get numerous Skype feedback pop-ups that continue to accumulate requiring someone to manually close each of this. If they’re not cleared, this results in Windows giving the error message that virtual memory is exceeded. We’re running PMCC on a PC with 4gig of RAM. It works OK provided we clear the unavoidable Skype pop-ups. So, bottom line in my opinion as an actual PMCC user; it works but it’s a PBX alternative that does require continuous (but quick and easy) maintenance.

PrettyMay has crippled our Skype. We can’t use Skype now, at all, because it won’t load. It tries to start, but since we removed PrettyMay after realizing it wouldn’t work for us (you might provide better docs to read before people install and try your software) it has crippled Skype. Skype won’t start, asking for PrettyMay voice files, and then Vista says I can either continue to wait, or close the program, because it has stopped. It has been removed from Control Panel, and using Explorer, but I can’t open Skype to try again. I initially removed all add ons from Skype, through Skype.

Please don’t give me another ‘just uninstall!’ response.
I tried uninstalling Skype, getting a new copy of 4.0, and installing in again, but same thing. Where is PrettyMay in the registry so that I can get rid of it???? No Skype until I do!!!

  20. washinton32 said 1467 days ago

I am having the same problem. I uninstalled Pretty May from my skype and now I cant get skype to work. I gives me the following error message. ToneDecoder interface initialize failed, please reinstall PrettyMay!

  21. terrillmoore said 1459 days ago

I get exactly the same message as Washinton32 — for ease of google searching, the exact message I get is “Fail to obtain tone decoder dll”. I’m able to click OK a couple of times, and Skype comes up, but I’m unable to get this to go away. Coincidentally, WMP-11 stopped working for playing sounds at just about the same time I uninstalled PrettyMay. I must say, the architecture of extras management in Skype 4 is really unfriendly to the sysadmin-capable user — it seems to be impossible to reset things w/o simply deleting skype and all history, and starting over.

Okay, I’m having the same very frustrating error as you guys. I have even reinstalled Pretty May through their website and still same error. Has anyone tried uninstalling everything Skype related and Skype itself then reinstalling. I’m just wondering if anyone else had any luck before I try that.

    Thanks in advance

Hi all, I had the similar problems with Pretty May and ended up uninstalling everything Skype related, including Skype itself, shut my computer down, and then reinstalled it… and finally it’s working.
I also left feedback on the Pretty May website, and I had a response from them within 10 hours, which I’m quite impressed by. I’d already fixed the problem myself, but this is the response I got, in case it helps any of you…
“Hi, Please go to the skype install path, and then delete the dsound.dll.(Please make sure you exit the skype before you delete the file.)Hope this helps.”

    Lol, I posted twice… woops!
I wanted to change the time I said it had taken PrettyMay to get back in touch… I thought it was 10 hours, as I’d been sleeping, but realised after checking the emails time stamp, it was just under 5.

If you’re taking a look at this product for your business, I’d also recommend checking out OnState’s Skype Call Center, which allows you to use Skype along with any network- or mobile-connected device, and combine it with our business presence monitoring to make sure that customers reach the right employee on the first try, every time.

    PMCC is a dud.
    Here’s why :
    - It requires a PC with loads of RAM (2 GB+) to perform basic functions
    - It requires hourly maintenance to clear popup windows
    - It does NOT work with Skype (status not updated to PMCC, call flows fail)
    Nice idea, poor execution.
Save yourself the trouble, avoid it

  33. prettymay-support said 1373 days ago

    Hello Hugohthomsen,

    About you comment:
“- It requires a PC with loads of RAM (2 GB+) to perform basic functions”

Answer:The requires depend on your lines. As following.
    Hardware:
    *For one line:
Intel Pentium III Processor or higher
    256MB RAM or higher

    *For 2-5 simultaneous lines:
Intel Pentium D 2.8G or higher
    1GB RAM or higher

    *For 6-10 simultaneous lines:
Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 or higher
    2GB RAM or higher

    *For >10 simultaneous lines:
Intel Xeon 5410 2.33G or higher
    2GB RAM or higher

“- It requires hourly maintenance to clear popup windows”

Answer: You just need enable the Slient mode settings in the call center to avoid that.

“- It does NOT work with Skype (status not updated to PMCC, call flows fail)”

Answer:We have release a new version to fix this issue. It’s include the new optional component – PrettyMay Agent assistant software – It’s a free desktop utility for agents to direct dial out, manage calls, see user status and queues…

More question, please contact us at http://www.prettymay.net/support.htm

    Thanks.

See PrettyMay Customers Tell Their Stories

PrettyMay Call Center was just what we were looking for with regard to our small business. We literally built a server for $400 and installed PrettyMay Call Center to answer all incoming calls for the company. The voice mail and transfer of call features allow our company to operate from disparate locations, whether on customer sites or from home. Any support issues we ran into during the initial install were promptly responded to as well. Once up an running, the software just works without any constant troubleshooting. Thank you for a great product and your continued hard work!

I got rid of a phone system with auto attendant and voicemail, deskphones, phone wiring, and phone lines. Replaced it all with a PC, some bluetooth headsets. and some PC’less Skype DEC cordless phones. My phone bill has dropped a whopping 70 percent. The transition is painless. Most of the aggravation is dealing with local phone companies, transferring lines, remote forwarding to Skype (because they don’t have number portability). And I can’t say enough for the quick responses from the Pretty May team.

    Sincerely,

    Mark Wright

Keep up the great work and don’t let this thing go. You are on the cutting edge of a Skype Small Business Revolution. Our phone bill went from $600 per month to $36 per year with only a $1,200 investment in equipment.
Thanks again for the great service.

As a new orgainzation and with our staff stretched across the USA, PMCC was an ideal choice for us. Internet technology and products like PMCC have put the business owner back in control of their fixed costs. We simply purchased an 800# to sync to our Skype direct # and bought the unlimited skype out plan. Setup our PMCC on a single computer and we are up and running. Even though most of our communication is conducted through email, we still needed a quality telephone system that could offer a direct line service to right staff member.
I recommend PMCC for small staffed businesses.

Scott Huse Chief Inspirational Officer, CIO
    the S.A.F.E. TEAM

We’ve been using PrettyMay for over a year now as the only phone system for our company. We’re running nine skype extensions, and it’s been reliable enough that we don’t even thing about it anymore. We find it convenient and easy to use and administer. Our phone costs have also plummeted from around $1500.00/ month to around $10.00/ month. We even have clients using skype now because we do, and asking us to be added to our PrettyMay skype user account contact list.

I may have just submitted an unfinished comment…whups. To continue.
I would like to hear from a pretty may user – *not* a pretty may representative.
I an interested creating a small but reasonably busy (six to eight) agent inbound call center for a non profit. Although we are not an emergency service, the occasional call may be an emergency call, therefor critical. Will PMCC/Skype do the trick – reliable, stable etc? Some users mention an issue with pop ups, does the “silent mode” resolve this?
Does pretty may allow for transfer of calls to another agent, or tranfer to outside numbers (i.e. transferring a caller to another agency)?
what do actual users think? Is it worth it or should I look elsewhere.

    Thanks

I signed up to skype some time ago but now my user name is no longer suitable. I have tried to remove and reinstall skype but when I do it recalls my user name and doesn’t allow me to create a new user name/profile. How do I create a second user for the same computer or how do I delete my profile and create a new profile that is suitable for my new location? Help would be greatly appreciated, thank you. I just want to use skype and I am forced to use the old user profile which I find very unfriendly. I can’t be the first person to have this problem, can I? thank you.

  37. farahtopps said 1075 days ago

I think for a true Skype based PBX, you guys need to check out Zaplee (www.zaplee.com). Their interface is simple and intuitive – doesn’t take a rocket scientist (or even a programmer) to figure it out. Its also 100% hosted so works for Mac since our designers are all on Mac. The only thing is that you will need a dedicated Skype Business Account through the Skype Manager since Zaplee uses the Skype for Asterisk platform. Great support too – they always get back to me within 24 hrs, highly recommended!
