Skype and Windows Vista update

There have been numerous questions about Skype and Windows Vista relations.

They used to have some occasional hiccups, but for a while now they’ve lived together in peace and harmony. In other words, Skype
3.6
for Windows is now certified to run on Windows Vista.

We’d like to remind to you that to get the best-possible experience, you should be running latest Windows updates and driver versions.

I’m running Windows 7, and have had the problem with others not being able to hear me ever since I loaded it.

There is a problem withe the audio selection. What I have to do is. before making a call, I go into Tools > Options > Audio Settings. For some reason there are two choices:
“Microphone (High Definition Audio Device)” ane
“Microphone (High Definition Audio Device) (2)”

One works the other doesn’t. And Skype seems to always choose the wrong one. So choose the one that shows a response in the bar below when you talk.

I notice also that when I sign into Skype, I get “Skype [2]” on the tab in my toolbar. This suggests that there are two versions of Skype running, but I can’t find the other. I have deleted the windows.old folder so I know it’s not there. At least I found a way to work around it but it’s a major pain.
