The Day the Engine Purred

Animals are a big part of office life at Skype. More often than not, a golden retriever or Dachshund will check in on you during a particularly long conference call. Today, we got a minuscule — if temporary — addition to the crew here in Tallinn.
This little kitten, probably no more than a month old, had snuck into the engine compartment of a colleague’s car this morning, just outside the office. Weather in this part of the world hovers around the freezing point in late November, so we applaud her smarts and resourcefulness.
So what’s the point of all this? If you really need one, it’s that a little ball of purring fur in a fast-paced engineering office brings out smiles in a way that few other things can compete with.
May good things come to you, Karter.
That kitten is quite lucky to have found a warm friendly place to hang out. Read somewhere that petting an animal causes the heart rate and breathing to slow down, putting a person into a more relaxed state. So maybe its a good thing for you guys that she showed up
That is so awesome. I believe cats are the most brilliant of all God’s creatures and this one would not have been alive long without the help from you all. She’s purrfect. Blessings!
That’s so sweet and kind of you to take her in. Thank heavens you found her b4 she succumbed to hunger or the cold. She’ll return your kindness w/ love and companionship. Be sure to have her altered (spayed) b4 she “comes of age” (in a very short time). She’ll be more healthy and apt to stay “home” and she won’t add to the burgeoning population of unwanted kittens and cats.
What a great name, too – “Karter”.
