The service is still down in Montreal Canada.
I had to call forward all my skypein calls for the last 2 days to my landline. Luckily I picked up the service was going down in time to make the change. I hope Skype is going to refund my credit for having to do this.

Can someone explain me why I cannot add user whose Skype name and e-mail I know. I am receiving that does not exist. But I know it does. Please answer meeeeeeeeeeeee!

Well Villu it seems NOT everyone is up and running. I live in Wiltshire,England and SKYPE is still NOT WORKING for me. Cannot do a TEST CALL or in fact do very much other than look at comments such as yours that say ALL IS WELL when quite clearly it is NOT.
Do you have any printable suggestions how or what I can do to get SKYPE working again ?

Some people have ‘one of those days’… I have ‘one of those lives’! WHY did I pick THIS weekend to play around with my fancy new Skype WiFi phone? It was quite awhile before I realized it wasn’t my hardware- go figure! Anyway, good luck to all working on the resolution .

Great work and hope you are not all overdosed on pizza and coffee. FYI, very little interruption in the Western U.S. (California). I have a 6MBps Broadband connection which may help.
I personally appreciate what you have been through. As a former IT Manager and Consultant (laid-off) I have been through more than a few 24hr plus “overnighters” and “weekenders”. Kudos on your dedication, efforts, continued and clear communications under extremely difficult circumstances.
Your blog introduced me to the Skype Heartbeat which do not know before.
Skype is still #1, as I tell and invite all my friends and acquaintances in the U.S.A., E.U. countries, and Latin America. I also give positive comments and commendations on technical web sites and forums.

Congrats on getting things working again – after two days of hard slog, I think it’s obvious you guys were facing a pretty serious problem.
That said, Skype is now a trusted service with paid subscription (myself included). For this users come to expect a level of stability and two days of effective shut down does not land well with most.
I look forward to reading the post tomorrow to see what actually happened and what are the commitments from Skype to ensure this service remains at the front of the market.

I’m impressed by your efforts to restore the service after the big disruption.
You should know though that the system isnt’ working properly everywere, like you suggest.
After the disruption I installed the last skype version – and I think it was a mistake: now the sound has an awfull quality, I can talk but nobody understand me, and the same problem occurs when somebody is trying to talk to me: the sound has many disruptions, and starting the camera worsen it.
Eventually we ended up chatting in writing.
I reinstalled the last version many times, with or w/o my antivirus program on.
When the computer logs in, I’m getting the green ellipse logo for 2-3 seconds, then is turning into the blue skype logo with a red flag.
When I’m opening the START window on my computer, the Skype program logo isn’t the blue one anymore – it shows the logo like the computer doesn’t know what program is supposed to use to open Skype, but when clicking on it is lunching it w/o comments.
I’m in Canada, and so far trying to talk to my brother in Europe is a nightmare.
Could you suggest me what to do to get back to the wonderful Skype I use to enjoy so much?

After the disruption I installed the last skype version, and it is not working at all. I uninstalled and reinstalled it at least 5 times. It seems to start but I cannot sign in, and the program closes.
