Skype login problems

Some of you may be having problems logging into Skype.  Our engineering team has determined that it’s a software issue.  We expect this to be resolved within 12 to 24 hours.  Meanwhile, you can simply leave your Skype client running and as soon as the issue is resolved, you will be logged in. We apologise for the inconvenience.

    Good customer service is keeping clients posted of the issues and resolution. Great customer service is offering free SkypeOut minutes or discounts to those planning to renew service.

    Something to consider as a little “damage control”.

    Very frustrating, we have been using Skype for business. Back to Yahoo IM which we almost forgot existed, that until now!!! Few more days like this, we may not want to go back. It turns out that Yahoo IM works just fine, have not tried Google Talk though, any comments?

    I recently renewed my Skype Pro subscription, and i rely on Skype-Out & Skye-in.. It is still not working perfectly for me.. I get the cycling login icon a lot..

    PLEASE DO SOMETHING SOON.. And i hope you (Skype PR) would be able to convince us (Skype Pro, Skype-out, etc users) to stay with Skype and fix this issue..

    It’s simple – give each of us a decent size wad of SkypeOut credit to compensate for the inconvenience (say USD$10 per subscriber), and we promise not to uninstall Skype. You have until 9am EST tomorrow.

    problem started again !!!!! This error should be solved sign in problem still appears some times when i come online it shows green check mark after few seconds it start rotates again.

    skype should also introduced some patches !!!

    some????? the whole word have problems and it is for very very long already,more than 3 days.
    its unimaginable,unallowable,the big dissaster for skype,for 3 days your engineers not even spoted the issue yet,you better close it down completely and dissapear.

    I’m sure that Skype owners should message all their users about problems that occur or may occur in Skype software. I’m fully confident that it’s just a common courtesy to inform people who are utilizing this program…at least we should be aware of possible inconveniences…

    I see 5.8 million users online now. It was quite entertaining to read the posts and complaints. Everybody should have a backup plan. Unfortunately computers, networks and information technology is not 100% reliable. Actually what is 100% reliable??? Sometimes the problem is not so obvious. I’m sure a lot of people at Skype were working hard for the last two days to fix the problem and I’m sure they will have a better way to handle such problems in the future.

    Unfortunately, most of my contacts still see me off line – and I see them off line.
    Another problem: one of my contacts decided to conference me with another one – who cannot contact me. The conference host could hear both of us, while we could hear only conference host. Please, check this “bug.”
    Yesterday, I saw friend of mine online, but couldn’t call him. Then, I sent him a file, and then we could call each other.
    Hope this information will be useful for debugging.
    Thank you for serving us!!! You are great guys, and Skype is one of the greatest things on the Internet. Shit happens with anybody, but we still love Skype!

    I had written a nice meaty reply which beatifully discredited pretty much everything you have said. It was a work of art.

    Annoyingly we just had a power cut in our area which meant that it’s all lost and to be honest I have more important things to do than explain to you why you are so misinformed, why you should take the time to read other peoples posts properly before commenting on them, and generally why your comments demonstrate an arrogance and righteousness usually reserved for the immature twenty-something that’s been in IT for a couple of years, has a half baked opinion on everything and insists on telling you about it at the bar after a trade show. You know, the kind of kid you just want to punch so they shut up and go away.

    But I don’t have time.

    The only point I really want to bother retyping is that it is unbelievably arrogant of you to think you can chastise people for not understanding why a backup is important. Not everyone is as IT savvy as you lead us to believe you are. The sales blurb on any software or hardware rarely, if ever, says “oh, by the way, because this product is actually a bit flaky you need to make sure you have something else you can use when ours breaks”.

    People need to be educated, not beaten up by people like your good self when the service they trust AND PAY FOR falls over.

    Oh one other thing,

    Good day!
    I leave in South Africa and using skype
    to my Korean families in Korea…

    when I logged in I can chat…but when i connect the call (video)
    my network dies out and i have to restart the computer to connect again.
    spoke to network server, and they don’t see the problem from their side.

    i’m a mac user…
    perhaps can you help me??

    I am having a very strange problem. I can log into Skype no problem. But my girlfriends account will not log in on either of my mac laptops.

    Cannot connect to server

    When I log in as her at work it connects.

    Any ideas??

    Hi,
    it looks as if I have been chosen to go through the same problem.
    I can not connect to skipe for the past week, and feel very sad because I can not contact any one to resolve this. I sent you a letter and got no reply.
    I was hoping to pay for skipe line and new mobile phone, but how can I do that if you do not let me contact you?
    I have a Mac and was wondering if I could find out when will I be able to use skipe again?

    I can log on to skype but there are no provisions to make a call. It says im logged in. but the skype part that has my #s and provisions to is nowhere. thanks Nevin

    This happened to me on 18th November 2008. Why is it so late when everyone else’s computers stopped logging in in 2007?
