Cheaper SkypeOut calls to India will continue

It’s worth remembering that it doesn’t matter whether you call Indian landlines or mobiles. The price will be the same.
If it stays like that for all the time then I can think of buying it!
I think the rates should go lower.
The current promotional rate is the same as my international calling card’s normal rate. And I would still stick to my calling cards as they don’t carry a connection fee and offer crystal clear and smooth voice quality.
I was very excited about skype when I heard about it. However I was very dissapointed when I saw the international rates for Asia (India, Bangladesh and Pakistan). I use Yahoo messenger for international calls. The rates are half of what skype charges. My money stretches further.
i could see the promotional rates being charged until end of Nov or early Dec. Since early this week it seems to have jumped back to the .17 cents rate. well i changed from Skype Unlimited calling to SkypePro around the same time – so not sure if this is/was a intended feature or a bug.
Whereas I pay Skype around $60 for SkypePro + SkypeIn for an entire year, I would spend another $400 to $600 in calling India phones – would have loved to call from Skype only if the rates were competitive.

Upward change in SKYPE call out rates to India is disappointing. I have switched to another alternative JAJAH which provides Australian 11.3 cents per minute on land line and under Australian 10.00 cents per minute on mobile to India. There is no connection fee either. I wonder what SKYPE administration is doing – don’t they check call out rates of their competitors. I would like to revert back to SKYPE if the rates are competitive. Thanks.

Why are the call rates to India so High with Skype. With conevential calling card I can use my phone and call for 5.9 cents per minute. And if the calling card is having a deal it can be as less as 2.9 cents per min.
Why is skype charging so much more for calls to India.
I can call to my calling card access number and use it. so get the much cheaper rates. I can use skype and pay much less than it charges.
