Certification specs are now v7.07
That’s right. The official production version of Skype Software Certification Test Specifications is now 7.07.
With the exception stated in my previous post, all new software certification requests must be made according to version 7.07 of the specs. So be sure to download the latest specifications and self-test checklist now!
]]>Perhaps the most important change is that of prioritization. P1 requirements can no longer be marked as “not applicable”. P2 can be marked N/A, but only if the respective functionality is not present in the application. If the functionality is there, then you are no longer allowed to fail a P2 requirement. P3 requirements are essentially recommendations; failing these even if applicable is OK as long as all P1 and all applicable P2 criteria are met.
For more detailed information about what and why was changed, see the Rationale of changes, and, if you wish, detailed change logs linked to the rationale document.
Thanks a lot to Kristo who has done the bulk of the hard work with help from our tech writer Avo, folks from Skype’s product security, legal, and eCommerce teams, and several good members of the Skype developer community.
I have skype phone plugged into my phone line in the wall of my house. My home phone does not ring. I can only answer calls in my computer. I had my local company disconnected my old number. What can I do? What did I do wrong? Please skype me (504) 208.4312 / lin55@cox.net
