This update looks great. Any chance 640×480 high resolution video will make it into ver 3.5? A lot of people I know are hacking config.xml to achieve hi-res. It would be nice to have this adjustable within skype.

A regular Beta software tester, looking forward to SKYPE betas.

I think it is very important that the new version DOES NOT allow the user to sign in with the same ID from different locations. If I sign in from my office and forget to sign out, I should be logged out from my office comp the moment I sign in from home. The way Skype handles simultaneous logins is very primitive. Please consider this. Thanks!

    Hello. (hi)
Can you please make a “peace” smile?
    It’s like a (y) or (n), but peace.
It will be greate if you can make it.
Thanks from all Latvian hippies. (peace) ;)

    Hi,

Will this beta version of Skype work on Windows Vista?

  7. justinrossetti said 2184 days ago

    I disagree with, aniruddhamallik.

Many logins is very important. It is why I use Skype.

My wife can pick up the phone at home, or I can pick up the phone at work. Same number.

I have 5 computers at home, they all ring at once.

Making a single login would alienate a lot of users.

    (but Skype knew that!) hehe

Robert it should work fine on Windows Vista.

Multiple logins are good for power users. I’m on the same time logged in from my PC, Pocket PC and Embedded phone for example.

Tell me I use skype to call land lines and esp in business hour there is often difficulty in using the lint due to delay or poor sound. What can I do to improve the situation?

  10. mantiev said 2171 days ago

Definitely KEEP the multiple login ability, please. In fact I’m not sure you would / could even disable this?

As it stands I have Skype running on my PC at the same time as my Skype phone(s), sometimes my laptop too. All ring around the house (I work from home) which is very cool.

    Hi, everybody!

I think multiple logins feature should remain, but let’s put it into the options. So, it will be enabled by default, but user can switch it off if he think it is necessary.
This is about privacy. Multiple logins makes the system unreliable in sence that somebody, once learned your password, can just login from his computer and track all the chats you’re doing! And you will never know about it!

Skype and Vista. New version of Skype looks interesting. However, there is no comment about it’s compatability with windows vista which makes me a little concerned about whether to install it.

Is that possible the V.3.2 is hungry to ressources?
Any peoples have problems with quality and resetup the V.3.0.

Thanks for the progress. A few features to consider:
    1. an auto log-in / log-out feature. E.G. log in at 06h00 and out at 22h00 sending all to voice mail/don’t disturb/unavailable out of these hrs.
    2. CLI – PLEASE organize this feature for Australia (and other countries). I am still dumbfounded as to why this has not included and at least gives either a reason why and when it will be avail.

This works fine on vista business for me, As did 3.2!

Are people that are having problems using home vista editions?

I believe all current versions (inc. beta’s) are compatible (at least they have worked for me)

  18. petersrin said 2149 days ago

DV via firewire for video chat as in iChat AV please!

  19. dwc-bruno-home said 2144 days ago

Skype 3.5 beta works just fine on my Windows Vista Business system. This being said, I do agree with the suggestions that Vista compatibility should be stated on the website’s main page (or at least the beta page)

  21. adam.popov said 2091 days ago

Hi There, one of beta versions 3.5 was woring fine with Vista Business howver, two latest updates brought the problems with quality back

  22. sergiucosciug said 1672 days ago

    Totally agree with evgeny.drumachik.
Hey, people that make skype, i really appreciate your work. But it would be VERY VERY useful for some people to have the possibility to disable the multiple computer logins. it’s the time already, the 4th version is almost ready for use…
