Skype Toolbar for Office updated – now supporting Office 2007

Last week we finally published this long awaited hotfix and can now fully support Office 2007.
The range of supported MS Office applications now looks like this:

The main features are:

  • Send the current file that you are working with through Skype file transfer
  • Recognize phone numbers in text and:
    • Call those phone numbers
    • Send sms (if the number is a mobile)
    • Create Skype links
  • Collaboration – communicate with the author of the documents.

The new interface for those applications that support the Office 20007 Ribbon looks like this:

I will expand with some screencasts soon about this!

Where can I get the updated tool bar? The last one I saw on the Skype Site was dated 2006.

Ok, Great new add-in and very much appreciated. One problem, though…

I rum Office 2007 (SP2). I have approx 200+ contacts in my list and the toolbar is turned on. As i go from one to the other, I notice that the gree “Start Call” icon is greyed out for some even though there is a correctly formatted number.

    Any ideas…?

    Mike
