Use Skype Video as a free home or office watcher

It’s quite possible to use Skype and the video calling feature for this — see the discussion in the forum.
If it is possible great way to monitor the house when your out. I would be interested how to do this also

I would love to add video to my Skype experience. Where can I find the list of Skype certified webcams? And why aren’t all webcams supported?

In it, there is a link (www.skype.com/go/shop.accessories) for purchasing a compatible webcam from Skype but it leads to a list of accessories – none of which are webcams. *scratching head* Have any ideas?
