Open Beta update – 1.3.0.37
Yesterday we’ve released a small update to the open beta of 1.3.
The most important features include:
* web presence privacy option – now you can make your web buttons work!
* minimum window size change – now you can make skype main window much more narrow, which is a Good Thing ™
* /alertson and /alertsoff commands are implemented – so no more DND because of that chit chat popping up all the time.
* skype-action-handler is included – it is a small helper program that will allow you to follow skype: links in your browser and magically have it end up in your skype! Try [this](skype:berkus?userinfo). You will need to do some manual setup before, the docs will be available shortly. I hope to automate setup for the next releases too (and if someone knows how to add custom uri handlers support to Opera – let me know
)
* the default sounds do not crack at the end.
Get the update [here](http://www.skype.com/download/skype/linux/13beta.html).
Skype crashes after using link starting with digit or plus without ?call at the end, for example skype:1234 or skype:+1234
skype:+1234?call works good
Nice release, seems to work better. Looking forward to a final 1.3
Funny think, this web status. I have had an idea that it is stored on a central server … meaning if I have turned it on using Windows client, it will work from then in any circumstances … but it did not, so it must be stored only within client
Would it be possible to release those betas via the package repository? Perhaps having an UNstable APT repository would be a good way to achieve this, without disrupting the packages in the stable repository.
I tried to run skype from my linux partition. Refused to run because I am missing libstdc++.so.5. I have the newer libraries, libstdc++.so.6 installed. Tried to make a symbolic link with no joy. Why do you not release source code so that we can compile it against the libraries we have? I definately do not want to downgrade my operating system to run skype .
Help!

skype for linux 1.5.3.053 works fine on a Thinkpad T60 /kubuntu 6.10 with default mic and speakers (and great with a headset) , but I’d very much appreciate the video feed that Mac and Windows have. Video, Video Video! Please!
