Designs for moderator controls

It’s been a while since the last Skypecasts blog post, since we’ve been slaving away on some new controls for moderators and participants:

Hopefully these give you an idea of how the new controls will work. Basically, they’re much more integrated to the Skype client, with some big usability improvements. We’re planning to deploy these in the next release of Skype for Windows, coming very soon.

Please let me know what you think and ask any questions in the forums.

Hi, there! Here’s Rosana from Skype blog Brasil. I’m really anxious to see these great improvementes in skypecasts! I held a skypecast yesterday with 49 people in audio, 100 people in a chat, at the same time and I really could have used those features…ehehe.
    Keep up the good work!
    love,
    Rosana

I request that a link be added on how to include a text chat in the Skypecast. It would be helpful to have a text chat window as part of the Skypecast. And perhaps an unmoderated, “new user gets the mic” option like in Paltalk.com’s rooms. Thanks.

I have a friend in Adelaide, Australia who is trying to joing a skypecast but when he goes to the https://skypecasts.skype.com site he gets https://skypecasts.skype.com/skypecasts/settings/changeTimezone.html?message=talks_timezone_detection_failed

I would appreciate any help. Thank you.

I am a Mac Skype user…. Any plans for when these controls will make it into the Mac version? I am very anxious to host Skypecasts for several different projects of mine. As I and many people I want to invite are Mac users, though, that won’t be feasible until you work this interface into the Mac version.

The new controls look like a nice addition, but I’m curious if you plan on the addition of closed or password-protected Skypecasts? I think they’d be a great communication tool for my company and clients, but I don’t like the idea of just anyone being able to join.
