Skypecasts for Mac users
Skype launched a new product last week, Skypecasts. Skypecasts allow people all across the world to meet and discuss shared interests — anything from holiday ideas and new gadgets, to online gaming and the best ways to spend a Sunday afternoon. Skypecasts are moderated by the ‘host’ who is able to mute, eject or pass the virtual microphone to participants when they wish to speak.
Hosting or participating in a Skypecast is completely free, plus Mac users with version 1.4 can take part in Skypecasts.
]]>To join a Skypecasts simply visit the [Skypecasts directory](https://skypecasts.skype.com/skypecasts/home) and find one you’re interested in, there are plenty to choose from. If you’d like more information on how to join or host a Skypecast see our [user guide](http://www.skype.com/help/guides/skypecasts.html) or read [Jaanus’ blog post](http://blogs.skype.com/sites/en/2006/05/early_preview_of_skypecasts.html).
Since this is a preview of Skypecasts, we’ll be making many improvements over the coming months, to prepare for the official product launch. [Try it out](https://skypecasts.skype.com/skypecasts/home) and let us know what you think, we’d love to get your feedback and suggestions.

Skype 2.5 for OS X
’nuff said!
Nicola
Welcome as your name just appeared on this very quite blog. Thanks for the info and I hope you will be taking good care of this blog. Something is moving !
However considering the issue arising from the recent ill fated upgrade and the deafening silence that ensued, I am afraid that most will perceive this news as an added insult to injury and will end up shooting the messenger.
So quick an update on the update will be welcomed and of course again welcome
I saw there’s a software call “CrazyTalk for Skype”, seems very interesting, if it has a Mac version? Will you release that?
This is not an insult, this is a joke. As is this so-called Skype for Mac “Blog”. And Skype 2.x for Mac migth just become the best VaporWare of the year if nothing else…
This reminds me of a Simpssons episode where a food critic comments the icecream; “Why make five different flavours when you can´t get vanilla right”.
When Skype was released it looked extremely professional, now with “out of phase” releases for Mac and PC things are starting to look a bit amateurish. (Not even a version 2 beta yet ? )
With iSight built into most new Macs, Macs are crying out for Skype 2
How about a Skype 3 for OSX 2 months before the XP version next time, just to redress the balance
