Congratulations! When will SkypeIn leave beta?

As a SkypeIn user in Brazil, I feel thath SkypeIn could do this now.

I have many friends in Japan. I signed in my account and found the SkypeIn numbers in Japan which was limited to those lived in Japan.

I agree with wwe-liuhe on the above. It would be appreciated if Skype could allow those outside of Japan to be able to obtain a Japanese phone number. If this is not possible due to regulatory concerns or law, this should be disclaimed _before_ one attempts to obtain a number there!

I got SkypeIn with a Japanese telephone number yesterday and tried to call it to check that it was working. It rings properly if I use my mobile; I hear an automated error message if I use my landline.

Anyone have any idea what I might be doing wrong?

The SkypeIn Japan number we’ve had for 2 months DOES NOT WORK for landlines in Japan. It works for calls originating outside of Japan (+81 calls) and may work for mobile phones in Japan (see daniboy_communications posting Tues Mar 21 above). Disappointing, as we mostly want inbound calls from landline relatives in Japan!!!
