Weekend? What weekend?
I actually started to write his blog on Friday but ended up in meeting after meeting so didn’t get a chance to finish. It’s interesting to see how my *planned* weekend worked out.

Planned weekend
I am on a health kick at them moment so have been off beer and pizza and other junk food for nearly 2 weeks. (geek hell). It’s starting to work and I am slowly losing some weight. This weekend there will be no beer, no pizza, no junk food, and no football, so it gives me a chance to do some gardening, which means it will rain all weekend.
Actual weekend
Pizza on Saturday night followed by a bottle of wine on Sunday night, I think there was a pack of cookies in there somewhere as well. But at least I did get around to the gardening.
And yes it did rain all weekend.
Extras Gallery
I have just updated the extras gallery with some new entries :
Skype A2A API Simulator
This looks pretty interesting. If you are using the APP2APP API then you challenge is how you test your application as you need two PCS. This entry looks like it could help you out. Take a look here
Skype bridge for Java
I never did get into Java programming. I was always told that it was a cross between C and VB but was much easier. I found it harder for some reason so always steered clear of it. My claim to fame is when I was working at Microsoft I took the very first Visual J++ support call for the UK, but I digress.
If you are looking for a Java software bridge then take a look here
WebCams
I still have 4 webcams and a pair of IceMat headphones sitting around here, so tomorrow I’ll run a little contest to tell you how you can win them.
Incidentally talking of contests, just a quick reminder about the developer API content where you can win €2k. Only a few entries have been uploaded so far. I know most of you are waiting till nearer the date but I just wanted to get the world out.

Finally, this morning I got up extra early as I have video interview with Jeremy Hague from Skylook planned. Skylook is a plugin for Outlook that is Skype enabled. Sounds cool, with a little luck the interview will be published here shortly.
Even though I did not try out the APP2APP API Simulator I do think that such a tool is needed.
It is not simple to debug such APP2APP applications.
But then again you don’t have to use two PC’s.
What you can do is run two Skype applications (using ‘Run As…’) using two different window’s users You will need two different Skype Names for each Skype application.
Then you can run two instances of your application and two instances of the Skype API command window (or Skype Tracer http://blogs.skype.com/directory/skype_tracer_source/view/).
This might get confusing but it works very nice.

Thank you Alex for good suggestion, that is the good way of debuging APP2APP programs.
Alex,
Yes, thank you for that timely suggestion.
Hi
I posted an App2App application on the extra gallery under entertainment section with title “Remote Windows Media Player”, and I am intended to enter the API contest. How do I copy the entry to the Skype API Developer competition section in the extra gallery?
