Question: When is a mouse not a mouse?

Answer: When it’s a YapperMouse.

In my post bag this morning I received on one of the new YapperMouse phones.

As a mouse it’s fantastic, very comfortable, as a phone it’s also works great, it’s a little strange when you get a phone call and your mouse starts to vibrate or ring depending on your setting but the call quality is great.

When you press the middle button on the mouse after a few seconds you are shown your contacts list so you can speed dial without loading the Skype client. You can also use the mouse as a speaker phone.

I am really looking forward to getting in to the office with this later in the week and showing it off.

The mouse also comes with an application called Amy, one of the neat feature is Amy will automatically set your status to Do Not Disturb between times you specify. For instance 7pm to 8am. Another really cool feature enables Amy to help weed out junk phone calls.

Unfortunately they are only shipping to the USA and Canada right now but it’s a very interesting device and a perfect example of what developers have done with the Skype API to make new useful devices.

I feel the need to share, so I will order some of these and we will arrange another giveaway contest

I’m with tomasvilda. Cool idea, but I’m a busy man. I need to multi-task

i agree with these people, its not really practical. unless you used it with say a laptop. and still could use the touchpad.

I’m not even sure you could call it nice — it’s like me giving you a car stereo that requires you to pull to the side of the road and park the car to use it.
The genius that went into the user experience design of this rivals the skype 2.0 contact-selection list which forces you to always have some contact selected (and bloating out valuable screen real estate).

Why not try the skype mouse my company has developed? Our mouse has a built-in microphone, speaker and a FM transmitter. You can use a FM wireless receiver to enjoy skype chat. Visit below website to find out more:
