A phone inside your mouse… or mouse around your phone

Here’s a cool Sony gadget. A phone that looks like a mouse. Or the other way. Whatever. Anyway, it works like a normal USB mouse, except that if a call comes in over Skype, you can flip it open and it suddenly becomes a USB phone. You use the mouse scrollwheel to adjust volume. And when you’re done talking, flip it shut and it’s a mouse again.

Wow…that’s so awesome. Sorry, I’m new to skype and I was looking for some sort of community. Anyway, being new to it, I think I may be easily impressed but still, that’s cool.

Well, there’s one thing that’s cool about this: it prevents people from distracting themselves by doing stuff on their computer while chatting.

Can any one suggest how I may get a audible ring through my computer if my earpiece is occupying teh slot normally reserved for my speakers, equally I do not want teh conversation broadcast around the office

Wow. That’s super sexy. I want it.

I take it the mouse isn’t optical, though. Otherwise you’d be getting red lasers in the eye. Fun.

    Kinda neat, but kinda dumb.
The device disables as a mouse while you talk?
Something better would be a wireless phone that can be dettached from the mouse. Sorta like a small insert or something.

Anywho, skype is getting pretty neat. Keep up the work.

This is a good design but would be much better if there were no cables, come on lets go wireless. But other than that very good indeed. There are more news and phones here, http://www.phonesreview.co.uk

This is great, especially since I am using a headset to use Skype and hate it. I want to know why this isn’t available yet from Sony. Is this product available to purchase?

I must admit that I don’t understand this product concept. Does one have to pick up the mouse to talk? Wouldn’t that mean you couldn’t use most of your computer while you were on the phone? I don’t see the convenience of this as opposed to a headset.
