Developer Of The Month – December

Entries for the developer of the month contest for December were a bit thin on the ground. December is a bad month for competitions as people are thinking about what presents to buy and what parties to attend.

But we did get our first Python sample from Iiris, which you can find in the extras gallery. So congratulations as a Linksys CTI 200 Skype phone will shortly be on its way to you.

]]>There will be no developer of the month competition for a little while. At the end of the month I will be announcing a new API Developer Contest were you can win a cash prize.

Cool Stuff

YapperNut have a cool new mouse that is also a phone, called the YapperMouse.
It’s a great idea as it saves you carrying around lots of items in your laptop bag. Check it out.

KhaosLabs have written an application that uses GoolgeMaps to show you where your Skype buddies are located. Unfortunately it’s a closed beta right now but I managed to get a sneak look at the application yesterday and its well worth you keeping an eye on the KhasosLabs website for future developments.

SkypeDevBlog

Thanks to all those who have added SkypeDevBlog to their buddies list. I wont use it as a spamming method but it’s a good way for me to run quick competitions for items like WebCams, headsets etc that come across my desk on a regular basis. I can also hook it up to my SkypeBot so it can process and select winners automatically.

If you haven’t done so already, click the add me to Skype button below to add SkypeDevBlog to your Skype buddies list for a chance to win various goodies. 2006 is the year of the freebee. Up first is a replica Brazilian football top.
