SkypeOut call minute price changes will happen on January 2, 2006. Some minute prices decrease (Armenia – Mobile, Cayman Islands, Cyprus – Mobile, Guatemala – Mobile, Nigeria,

It would have been more beneficial if Skype revise their mobile call charges to European destinations.
I would like to see similar charges to those of the U.S. or Canada. Otherwise, this is tantamount to rip-off: I am sorry, but this puts off many people in using SkypeOut for calling mobile recipients (in Europe).

Here we go… Ebay is now going to make back the billions by hiking up the skype-out rates to the point that it will soon be the same as using a regular land line.
I have checked it out and skype competitors have lover rates than skype…
I hope skype pays attention and does not put me (a loyal and devoted skype fan and user) in a position that I will have to switch services.
The free call skype to skypee is great, however
The fee of skypee out is still too expensive in comparision to phonecard in US, in addition, they deduct my money even my friend did not take the call (no anwser call), that I do not like and no phonecard companies do that,
So, to improve the service, should improve this point, In my opinion, I only do bussiniss with skype one time and no more!
Why is everyone complaining? Some prices went up, some went down!! I suspect 99% of all Skype users will not be affected by a small price rise in calls to Algeria, et al. I sincerely doubt that Skype/eBay will make back the billions from raising costs to these places, and more likely to make less money, since the price decreases are to countries that are far more likely to be called due to the higher populations.
People really should think a little before they post flames. Do people flame their local supermarkets whenever prices go up on some items, I think not, I very much doubt if the price rises to the countries listed even affect most of the people flaming here!
No I don’t work for Skype!! But I do believe in a little perspective.
Skype is wonderful! I love it and have used it for many monthes now. I’ve downloaded version 2.0 and am quite dissatified with some of the new changes. I hate the new sounds of incoming, calling, hang-up etc… Why change?? what was wrong with the old ordinary telephone sound? and beeps for incoming calls or hang-up? These new electronic “burps” and “gurgles” are really unpleasent. Even the alternatives that can be downloaded for a price, are ruther silly. Please , please leave us the choice NOT to chane anything.
Another point is the highlighted name on the contact list. There is one name constantly “open” on the list and touching the call button by mistake, causes Skype to call the person. it is impossible to make it disapear into the general list. As before, clicking on the “contact” button, made the highlight disapear all together.
Not everything has to be changed for upgradings sake.

I am new to this since seeing it on TV on Friday. It said FREE calls, even on the wedsite it says FREE calls. What is FREE? I have to purchase credits, I don’t get it.

1. When is Skype going to introduce video telephony for the Apple product line?
2. All of you cheap bastards that are complaining about the skype out rates, I have a solution. Don’t use them. Get a phone card, do some background checking and purchase wisely. But most of all… quit your bitchin’!

I have loved Skype since the two months I downloaded it. Have taken offered updates with no qualms. Thought I was doing the right thing by getting Skype 2.0 but hated the whole feel about it. Rapidly went back to 1.4 with the sensible ringtones and look to it. Please don’t make the offer to update so dramatic in the future. Give us enhancements by all means but allow us to retain what we like about previous versions. If you want to let us try video then keep it separate from what we know until we are convinced. And for those who don’t wan’t video – don’t force them to have it.
I use SkypeOut, and have no problems with it. Even with a small price hike, it’s many fractions of what it costs compared to a regular telephone line, and it’s cheaper then even a regular phone with special services that get bulk discount rates for calls. I’m very happy with SkypeOut.
I think the strength of skype was to permit to access to Mac, Linux, PCs, Phones, all that together and a low price or no price at all.
Why this beta with changes on User interface ? just to say ehh this is a new one ? Let users choose if they want to keep old style !!! Users do not like skype for fashion but for functionalities
Secondly why limit video to XP? I do not like this!! A kind of Microsoft limit! Please Go to Mac, Linux, anywhere where there are earphones + microphone.
I would like to be able to send wibs like in Messenger, This is a feature that I like very much and i would like skype to have it allso!
Why are the fees to call Guam different than calling US? The Guam phone system is the same as US, and it is a US territory. When I LIVED on Guam, people could call me as if I were using any other US based phone.

I agree with many people here… tried Skype 2.0 and… have chosen to go back to 1.4… it seams 2.0 has only ½ the features of the GOOD 1.4… and going to 2.0 just for video, does not make sense… you can plug-in free Spontania video and have better functionality than with 2.0…
Also, there is Yahoo with lower to landline prices… but, I prefer Skypy’s GOOD 1.4… why Skype just not add the video to 1.4…? … 1.4 is the best yet system they have designed… better than 2.0… and even though I am on PC… like most of the people here I will be moving to Mac… Win PC with Win XP Pro and a Macintel X86 can do native Tiger…
So it is perhaps time for Skype to recognize this and release Win, Mac and Linux versions at the same time… and not to BIG promote 2.0 that has ½ the features of the GOOD 1.4…

Obviously some of you must have been able to get some Skypeout credit – how do you do it? – I have tried every credit card I have, all with zillions of unused credit, and each one is rejected by Skype. Skype must be losing serious revenue as I know several people with same prob. No wonder the prices have to go up to pay for such ineffectiveness and inefficiency. Try to contact Skype about credit card payments – impossible!
Beta version with video features works!!!! something was better in official version. I am non able to associate my sound audio to the events. Someone can hel me? Angelo
No credit card options for me anymore. Only the bank transfer, but thats too expensive for me.. Last time it worked. So installed yahoo voice, my card was OK, paid for them for the service. So it goes.

I`ve been using their service for one week and I do not touch landline anymore. If I need dial 0800 or mobile in another country I Use SkypeOut because is better at the moment.
Great to see the Skype team reviewing their prices to some detinations and implementing these changes immediately, however i would like to comment on the skype out prices to Fiji and other south pacific islands where there has been little or no movement (decrease preferably) over the past 12 months. I am very interested to know if there is a review on these destinations particular fiji and also if any of the skype team has recently called fiji as the call out quality on skype out is terrible (a lot of background noise with a lengthy delay with an echo). This has directed me to use a preapaid calling card in the intrim where the rates are lower (this can be provided on Skypes request) and the call quality is premium. As a devoted skype fan i hope that there will be some immediate action.
Does Fiji have skype so my friend can make free skype to skype calls to Australia ?
