]]>SkypeIn Germany numbers have been on sale for less than 24 hours, but they’re already quite popular and we see numbers in many areas being sold.
SkypeIn Germany functions a bit differently from other SkypeIn countries. First, you cannot pick your own number, the system assigns it to you automatically. Second, you have to be a German resident and can get a number only in the area where you live. It might sound restrictive, but we had to make it work this way to get Germany launched in the first place. We’ve had a LOT of interest in German numbers and I know there are now a lot of happy Skype and SkypeIn users in Germany.
France now works a bit like Germany too — you have to be a French resident to get a French SkypeIn number (but you can pick your own number in France).

Congratulations, for getting SkypeIn numbers for Germany. This is awesome…Dankeschön! Though, I may add a future enhancement you want to look into; so called 032 numbers (or +49-32…VoIP reserved numbers), because this will not restrict the user to a fixed area and/or she will be able to chose a number without the regulatory overhead.
any plans for costa rica? my daughter is in nosara and it would be great to have it there or a skype site.

Is Skype going to offer Italian exchange numbers?
Other Voip services, such as Lingo, already offer this feature. I hope Skype will consider adding soon Italian numbers to SkpyeIn.

I was about to sign up for a German Skypein. Too bad you need to be a German citizen. German legislation I guess. I hope the legislation is changed for citizen within European Union. Well, at least I can use SkypeOut to call my german Freundin.

It is really great to see the number of SkypeIn countries growing. But the only one I’m really interested in is Canada, more specifically Toronto numbers. It would be so great to be able to give out a Toronto number and very frustrating that I cannot use Skype for it yet. I really hope that some time in the near future Skype can offer Canadian numbers; I know I’m not the only one who wants one.
Any news about Spain SkypeIn numbers?
I would also like add the request for Canada but Vancouver numbers.

I knew there are a lot of taiwanese who use Skype, SkypeOut service, they may want you to launch SkypeIn too.

As soon as you get Belgian landline SkypeIn numbers, I’m going to buy one.
