New toolbars, including Firefox
Yesterday we added a new member to our toolbars family, the [Skype toolbar for Firefox](http://www.skype.com/products/skypewebtoolbar/). It is a beta version, but works pretty well they say. Initially only for Firefox for Windows, other platforms coming up. Also the two other members of the family, the [Internet Explorer toolbar](http://www.skype.com/products/skypewebtoolbar/) and the [Outlook toolbar](http://www.skype.com/products/skypeemailtoolbar/) moved out of beta.

We now call them [Web Toolbars](http://www.skype.com/products/skypewebtoolbar/) and [Email Toolbar](http://www.skype.com/products/skypeemailtoolbar/). The Web Toolbar page looks at what browser are you using, and offers you the right one.
The toolbars enables you to call directly form the application you installed them in. So let’s say you are looking for Swedish people and search a directory service like [privatpersoner.eniro.se](http://privatpersoner.eniro.se). If you have the toolbar installed, all the phone numbers become clickable so you can call them straight from your browser.
That excellent directory service (Eniro), by the way, offers the option to register your Skype name in their directory, in addition to your address, landline phone, mobile phone etc. Pretty nice!
Great move ! Especially on the Email Toolbar.
May it should be able to scan emails that are in the Inbox, to make the phone numbers clickable ?!?
Available on 2.0 ?
It is not mentioned in announcement, but as far as I understand, this toolbar is Windows specific. If you say “toolbar for Firefox”, this implies “for all platforms where Firefox available”. If it is not true, it need to be said explicitly.
When non-Windows versions will be available? I am interesting in Linux one.
vkondra — indeed, it’s currently only for Firefox for Windows, thanks for pointing it out. Added clarification. We don’t yet have a timeline for other platforms but those are surely coming up.
You have no clue how long I’ve been waiting for a Skype toolbar for Firefox. Thank you sooo much!
It is customer-frinedly improvement.
Especially for frequent users, it will bring such convinience.
