cool
You guys so rule. But then, you all know that already. It just feels good to say it. Thanks for the buttons.
And thanks for free.
“Hang the fad. Keep it simple.”
You know what? Something must be wrong with the update function in the menu bar, because everytime I hear about a new release and use the function it tells me that I already have the newest version. Which is of course not true. Just wondering. Now I’ll get the new version.
So we get the ability to use Skype Buttons while the Windows client gets all of the cool features like call-fowarding. Yea, Great news.
green day rocks and so does skype
Hope the check for update from the Skype program would detect this. I did a manual download since when using the check for update using the Skype OSX Program it only resulted in no updates as of this time.
I use ENTOURAGE for mail, etc. Do you have a fix for it as well?
I’d love to use Mac’s MAIL but I’ve been using Entourage for a couple of years and I don’t believe I can import it into the Mac Mail, Calendar, and Address book applications.
Love Skype. Don’t have to use my satellite phone as much.
Thanks!
Sheila

Eu preciso do Código do Brasil para utilizar o SkypeOut
I don’t need buttons as much as I need better sound quality for SkypeOut.
I lack a guide that concerns itself with ALL parts for having good sound with the Mac. CPU speed, RAM, Mic and connection and advice for how you can survive also in not so perfect conditions.
Typically, I have OK sound in my ear, but my voice is so heavily disturbed at the other end that calls are of no worth. Skype to Skype is better though. But why exactly is SkypeOut sound going out so often so bad? I wish I knew if I should upgrade my CPU or my connection or whatever.
There ought to be ways to improve the situation, right? What are they?
what abourh video call
when is skype is going to be available for symbian OS man.For goodness sake I want one for symbian….
I would not touch this product. The licensing seems a nightmare.
The Web address for this product is http://www.phone43.co.uk/personal_voip_gateway.html
We have the Voip gateway in stock in the UK and all orders placed before 4pm are dispatched the same day. We offer a wide range of products for Skype and an engineer is available during office hours to answer any queries you may have via our online help facility.
I bought this phone too. Nice enough phone, but having a problem with a bug. When the phone base station is connected to the PC it treats it as an external sound device and stops the speakers working on the PC. Anyone know a workaround ?
Update … the phone installation had replaced the default audio device with the cit200. Changed back to soundcard and it works.
Agree, the Licensing is a terrible nightmare.
Better not wasting times in it.
Just got mine from FNAC (Lisbon, Portugal). Easy setup, easy operation, great sound, loaded with features.
I bought this unit from Amazon.com and I keep getting a disconnected and contact list unavailable error. The only remedy I know of is to unplug the usb base station and plug it back in. That will get it working for 5 minutes and it will disconnect again. IMHO, useless and unreliable. It is a good concept but until they fix that bug, I’m returning my unit.
What kind of license do you need to be satisfied by?
“Licensee may publicly sell, distribute, release, publish, transmit and/or exploit any Products created hereunder.”
Meaning that I cannot write a program that makes use of the API and publish the program or anything else… So what could I do with it then??
I just want to update skype for my mac and it’s complicated. Why can’t it be simple. It asks if i want to upgrade , I click now and it goes to a site which doesn’t react to my click to be updated? what the deal?pleae help///
cordless dualphone by Olympia?
I am also suffering the disconnection problems. The concept is pretty cool, but it needs to be more robust before it’s useful. I can get it to reconnect by shutting down Skype and the Linksys software, unplugging and replugging the base station, then restarting the software. But then just browsing my contacts causes it to disconnect again. Unfortunately, no updates yet on the Linksys site. Until there are, I wouldn’t recommend buying this.
Got it yesterday and have had disconnect problems all the time. Even unpluging the dongle does not help (get error on re-insert) only reboot does. Aboslutely frustrating. Any change there will be a firmware fix or is there a work around?
I am having the same disconnect problems as other users. I just bought Linksys CIT200. The phone works for 5 minutes and then disconnects from Skype on my PC. That pretty much renders the phone useless. I have yet to find a solution to this problem. Skype’s knowledge base does not contain any solutions to this problem.
Got my CIT200 and experienced many problems:
1) Could never be connected for more than 1 1/2 minute. Constant disconnect. (I am on a fast symetrical DSL, fast W2k server, so no reason to be disconnected)
2) After less than 5 minutes of use my Linksys voucher for Skype out had expired! Where are the 60 minutes advertized?
3) I tried to call 2 business numbers (in the US) requiring to enter an extension: no luck, this simply does not work. The 100 page documentation has no information on that problem.
4) I called the Linksys tech support number (provided on the CIT200 documentation). After an hour of wasted time, I was told that there is NO TECHNICAL SUPPORT for this product! Tried to ask for suppervisors:same answer.
My recommendation: stay away from this product.
I wish I could comment on it’s operatin, however, after following the directions to a “T” it keeps telling me “Access to Skype is rejected, please try again.”…After trying the installation many time the same results occur…Anyone else having this problem??
I am unable to dial using the skype software (i.e. by clicking a name on the contacts or typing a number on the keyboard,) only through the phone menu itself which is a very poor design.
I spoke with their technical support and was told that this was the way it was designed.
Does everyone have this problem?
I found the CIT 200 easy to set up and a hugely anti intuitive pain to use the hand set. It is a hand set designed for geeks by geeks. It is not user friendly like Skype. Let’s put it this way, you can’t just buy your Mom one and hand it to her like you can with a head set and a Skype download.
More serious problem is the Linksys driver with the phone (version 3.4.4) is poorly designed and insists on opening Skype and locking up any other processes on starting Windows XP SP2 no matter if you have checked Skype NOT to start on starting Windows. There seems to be no safe way to uninstall or fix this for the amateur. Worse, it corrupts the Linksys Wireless G cards with an External Exception error #E06D7363 . Linksys and Cisco are aware of the problem, but in typical fashion, have no interest in fixing it any time soon.
I’ve had this phone for a few days now. ALthough it is not perfect yet I think it is quite good: easy to install (none of the problems mentioned above), easy to operate (my mother does understand it) and with excellent sounds quality. However Linksys can definately make future improvements like being able to dial numbers while connected, answering calls in Skype on the computer while the phone is logged on, etc.
Does not work anymore and receives EAccessViolation error since I installed Skype 2 Beta. I have a collegue wich could never make it work with its Sony Vaio (Skype 1.4) and had already the same error. Technical support can’t help. I am now waiting for the release of a new driver to maybe be able to use this phone. A pity.
I had this and found that if I uninstalled the Linksys software AND the Skype software and reinstalled again it worked OK.
Mine now works fine.
The one major irritant I’ve got though is that you HAVE to dial from the phone and you can’t dial from the computer. If you dial using your PC (Skype or Skype out) the phone doesn’t activate.
Now, I’d be happy to use a headset for such an occassion but it won’t let me use that either. Any suggestions anybody? I’ve played with my sound setting to death!
Linksys CIT200 and eaccessviolation fix. If you reinstall the Linksys software, the next time you reboot the problem will appear. Here is the solution, on the Skype sign in window uncheck automatically load Skype on start up. Remove the Linksys shortcut from the Programs Startup folder. Reload Linksys software, and reboot. After reboot, you will manually have to load the Linksys software and that will automatically start skype immediately afterwards and so there will be no eaccessviolation. I know it is a hassle to start the Linksys program manually every time you turn on your computer but it is a good fix until Cisco/Linksys can get their act together.
kennethlbryant,
Thanks for the fix using the CIT200. I was pulling my hair out trying to figure out the problem.
Thanks again!
