150M downloads, 50M Skype Names

We just hit two cool numbers fairly close in time. Today we passed 150 million downloads, and a few days back, 50 million registered Skype Names. It has been argued about what numbers are useful to track for whatever purpose may be in question — be it Skype’s future or how we are doing currently or what not. All that business lingo aside, we think large round numbers like 50 or 150 million are just fun, so we thought we’d let you know.

    Good job guys!
But, I wanted to switch on skype to make my international calls from pc to regular phone. Unfortunatlly, I found the fees are higher than normal voip from phone to phone (the case for Germany to Romania).
Nice shot with the free calling, but for the moment I’ll stick to my 01071.
So, good luck and all my best!

    2 days & 16 hours ago, there 150,000,000 dl
    now there are 151,027,503 dl

    so,
    (151,027,503 – 150,000,000) / ( (2 x 24) + 16)
    = 16,054 dl per hour

    or 385,313 dl/day or 11,752,065 dl/month

My forecast about the end of year (31 december 2005)

    202,274,215 dl !!!! more 202 million downloads !!!!

    nice work guys

I’m about to move to a new area and leave all my friends far far away, and as i’m working as a volunteer I will have very little money – but with Skype I can still talk to all my friends

    Thank You so much x

I hate to waste time finding the place where this is supposed to be posted, but it would be nice if the SkypeOut contact list would automatically list calling rates (it could recognize the country codes and assign valid prices).
It would also be nice to be able to add contacts without making a call first.
    Cheers,

With the “word passes” the Voip becomes FREE also towards the cellular ones!
There is who has entered on world market VOIP in mute.
With the 27$ rates flat it is spoken on the fixed telephones and CELLULAR USA without time limits, from 60$ also towards other states to second of the zone of the chosen world.
Using this system is possible free of charge to call all the fixed telephones and the cellular ones also: 10% of the consumption of the persons are earned who make the subscription. Therefore inserting 10-15 persons more will not be paid the rate flat salary or the generated consumption.
They are available for information:info@telextreme.it .
